ABC more shocked than it’s been for 56 years

Should have guessed it's linked to Tim Bevis  Blair

Gosh time apparently is the absolute reason for things not to be kept simply when they are not in good taste. Black face is obviously something these two jerks  miss dreadfully while singing "My Bomerang won't come back". Along with other things.

The ABC is entitled to do what it wants as are Bevis and Butthead entitled to complain about whatever they want. However in this instance their complaint indicates just what fools they are. They probably still play Rolf Harris and still have Noddy on their bookshelves. Their the right wing, ’50s nostalgia takes the form of a quest for order, social homogeneity a public respect for traditional values —  and a less adventurous approach to sexuality at home but a devious on elsewhere. No Hos at home for them.

"The right, particularly the more economically libertarian in its ranks, likes the way globalization diminishes the ability of national governments to enforce rules, taxes and bureaucratic inhibitions on the market. Yet many traditional conservatives dislike the free flows of migration that globalization has let loose. They long for a firmer sense of national identity, and the kind of solidarity more homogenous societies can foster." a 2015 big business transnational economy with a 50s feel, Pathetic

Tribal trouble

" There is usually something tribal about mass brawls." Bolt

What is Bolt trying to suggest that might be informative? That urban brawls fueled by acohol and drugs that erupt spontaneously in the city centers are the same as kids gatecrashing parties and long standing family fueds ?  Or that local street gang fights,  and those between bikie gangs are the same? Is Bolt lumping the violence that broke out between Scotch College and Melbourne Grammar when kids were really hurt and hospitalised as the same.  It went on for months. That was about  crime drugs and money, big money for young kids to be involved with.

The suburbs parks and streets may have been noted for brawls of varying kinds between teenage gangs in the 50s, 60s and 70s when  Mods and Rockers and Jazzers faced each other off on Saturday nights pulling pickets off fences and using them as weapons. Those fights were arranged when clubs catered for each group and didn't serve alcohol. They closed at 1am. They may have had a tribal feel but to call them tribal is elevating them to something they weren't. Today those kids fighting back then are retired lawyers , engineers and retired parents today that probably no longer see each other. Brawls were driven by a multitude of reasons to simply call them "tribal" as Bolt does offers nothing to any explanation. Particularly when today late nights, alcohol and clubs don't draw anything but a mixture of Australian youth to them with no uniform identity. They aren't aren't generally filled with people that can be declared or even declare themselves as a tribe. It simply shows Bolt's an old fogey with little or no  street wise Australian knowledge as he makes out to have.

As for his slur of "tribal"  brawls which have a long standing history domestic fueds  also combined with lots of  alcohol that sometimes  occur between families Bolt hasn't a clue either. What makes a drunken brawl among Aborigines in a remote community "tribal". Weapons  don't make it "tribal" or ritualistic drugs aren't part of tribal tradition. If the elders have no control and cultural rules don't apply what  aspect of tribalism is Bolt referring to? Being black, remote, pissed sounds like a white mans cultural night out of control to me when anything goes and people are left dead.

"A NERVOUS peace hangs over Angurugu today as senior community people meet in an effort to prevent a repeat of yesterday’s violence that left two men — aged 19 and 29 — dead and more injured…"

Bolt hasn't a clue and by trying to draw some cultural comparisons all he does is reveal his ignorance. It was 1 an urban brawl in Sydney no doubt fueled by alcohol and a remote community brawl probably fueled by alcohol and a long term grudge between two families that got out of hand that's for sure.

"Groote Eylandt has a troubled history of intra-clan violence and while yesterday’s deaths were sparked by new sequence of events, feuds go back generations."

Bolt has made none of us wiser for his input

Bill Shorten slams timing of trade union royal commission release

Andrew Bolt makes no comment. For the past two weeks Bolt spent his blog very Bill Shorten  focused. He's now shut up.

Obama cancels project and jobs to “save” planet

Strange how Peter BH Bolt's Troll says Obama allowed no, used "scare" to dictate his policy. The difference between legitimate "scare" and illegitimate "scare" is clear when one is backed by 97% of the world's Gobal scientists and the other is merely a media campaign fabricated  for domestic political use as was  Tony Abbott's  ISIS campaign. Abbott said" they were coming to get us" and "the "Death Cult" is here among us" which allowed him to curtail our freedom at massive on going cost. I thought Conservatives were about smaller government not bigger.

" After years of consideration, President Obama formally rejected TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline application, which would have permitted oil from Canada's tar sands to flow to U.S. Gulf Coast refineries. Though the company and many Republican lawmakers argued it would benefit the economy, Mr. Obama said the project wasn't in line with efforts to combat climate change. Judy Woodruff reports."

The decision has no doubt helped  PM Justin Trudeau  of Canada “This lets him off the hook,” said Keith Brownsey, political science professor at Mount Royal University. “He no longer has to promote a pipeline from the oilsands. The environmentalists in his support base will not have to look the other way on Keystone.”

It's a great step when the political leader of a country gets to make decisions for not just the whole country but the planet. Rather than just bow to the enormous financial and commercial strength of multi-billion dollar  mining corporations Obama's decision incorporates much broader interests. Some projects simply don't have long term benefits for everyone, particularly the next generation..

Sweden tells illegal immigrants it’s full

When Sweden accepts and allows refugees to register for legal immigration how is it Bolt who is from Australia has the authority to call them "illegal immigrants" What authority does Bolt have in Sweden? If they are illegal as you say take them to court and set a precedent not just your personal opinion.

Australia accepts over a 2% intake annually and 50% plus of us can be said to be immigrants if we use the Swedish classification for immigrant. Why is  Bolt so  annoyed Sweden has accepted only 1.5% annually over the past 2 years. How is it Sweden is swamped and we aren't? Maybe Bolt thinks we are swamped and we should stop immigration altogether. Cut back while  he doesn't call our 2.2% "illegals" he does say immigration hurts our economy. A lie that has been put forward by Roy Beck, the Master of Deception

Roy Beck uses gumballs to try to explain Bolt's problem of Immigration but he is  far too simplistic and ahistoric it's worth reading to understand why?

No one leaving this “sinking” island. So what gives?

Irrelevant repetition is supposed to have us believe the science of global warming has been disproved.  So I repeat:

Anti Global Science advocates really have little or nothing to do with the science of global warming. Like advocates for Tobacco companies their job is to spread confusion through  media and they have access to funds to do just that. Basically while Tobacco companies no longer try to disprove the science of smoking and cancer they continue spend huge amounts of money fighting public health initiatives like plain paper packaging. Their experience has been picked up by the fossil fuel industry since it's been pointed out they are the largest man made producers of warming on the planet. Their business is advocating fossil fuels for energy and realeasing CO2 into the atmosphere by doing so. Consequently they and in particular coal have been regarded as  the greatest threat to the man made increase in global warming if allowed to continue to accelerate and grow.

The argument  basically is, if man continues to release CO2 into the atmosphere at an accelerated rate and if this results in and accelerated rate of global warming we will see an accelerated rate of sea rise and other disasters. Thomas and Bolt etc no longer try to disprove man made climate change. They talk of the 18 year hiatus ,which by the way has been proven wrong, but remains  a constant in their arguments. They don't refer to the IPCC 2015 report which denies the hiatus outright.  They also  constantly refer to exaggerated scenarios that were said might occur if and when extreme rate increases. These scenarios were never posited as scientific predictions . It's a bit like saying we will all live to 200 if science progresses at the rate it has been doing.  If we don't  we should turn our backs on medical research altogether and call it a failure. In other words they try to turn science on it's head by arguing against it because of non scientificly reasoned ideas and calling them failed predictions when they aren't and never were. The fact is we are polluting the atmosphere to detrimental effect and these effects are never taken into account by the fossil fuel industries as that's not in their interest and as a consequence are mocked  loudly by a conservative minority and right wing media.

CSIRO’s wide-ranging report, which summarised the findings of five surveys of Australian attitudes from 2010 to 2014.

" I don’t have an analytical grasp of science. But I am a committed supporter and believer in science because even without a deep understanding of it, it is easy to prove its contribution to the advancement of mankind. You would be a fool otherwise."

High-flying anti-Semite attacks Jew

Of what significance is this story? Is it meant to show us the lack of success the anti- semite had in forming a lynch mob on a plane? Is it a story about Jewish hatred? It appears the other passengers who we must assume weren't Jews but Muslims prevented the lynching. Unlike the that of the Israeli lynch mob that successfully killed the Ethiopian refugee at the bus station in Israel a week ago. When they did they never even said sorry only oops and ran. Maybe the significance here is that  Muslims on an Ethiopian Airline flight saved the Jewish Israeli passenger from an extremely agitated man.

Turnbull Government now giving in to arts bureaucrats, too

Remember the good old days when Butthead Bolt and Bevis Blair mocked the Australia Council and it's board members. Those  persons giving progressive arts grants simply for experimentation's sake to develop new programs and not to Quadrant. $105 mill was snatched and given to George bookcase Brandis to punish the Arts for it's left wing leanings.

"Lovers of art should actually welcome this move. There’s reason to wonder at the way the Australia Council has spent our arts funding. There’s reason to wonder whether Leftists on the council are freezing out conservative artists and publications, or giving too many grants to the same old faces or families.  Is there not a danger that the Australia Council gets dominated by Leftists who reward other Leftists in a tight little group? For instance:" Tim Blair

Which is better a peer-reviewed Democratic process or the George Brandis singular man one? George by the way didn't go after the job it was handed to him because he seemed a little befuddled by the more complex one of Attorney General and he needed something easier to occupy himself with.  Abbott believed would keep him out of trouble. It didn't. Bolt never did believe the move from Autocracy to Democracy in any institution serves us well because it's no guarantee  lefties  over time might get a foothold and even reason to hang out together.

Just another government scheme

Link SMH

" I didn’t understand the point of the scheme, either. Why spend taxpayers’ money on getting people to take jobs that in many cases others could have done without a subsidy?"

When Andrew Bolt gathers real information such as here he goes to Fairfax or the ABC those MSM organizations that he says can't be trusted. He's obliged however to link to News Corp to sell Murdoch mastheads wherever possible via their paywalls more often than not when no information is to be found.

So government policies are often never really trialed no matter whose in government. They tend to be reactions that seemed good at the time. You didn't need to read Bolt to get that news. However it seems no government money was spent Mr Bolt. So what's your point other than to remind us it was a particular Abbott gov idea? It bombed like Kevin Andrew's marriage counseling offer. He couldn't give away $20 mill. Wasn't his wife involved in that some way?
