Andrew Bolt's Blog,14/4/18; 43 Republicans are quitting this "f---ing stupid Forrest Gump"; Why Fox and Sinclair are so dangerous, they aren't news;

A dark and chaotic week for Donald Trump, his party, America - and the World

 According to Andrew Bolt the only problem is the Trump Hating MSM American Media and the truth can only be found with Fox News and Sinclair Media

  The past days have been dark and chaotic in Washington, perhaps best characterised by a profane and despondent tirade by a Republican congressman who snuck off to a local Safeway to unload upon the conservative anti-Trump commentator Erick Erickson.

"It's like Forrest Gump won the presidency, but an evil, really f---ing stupid Forrest Gump,” the anonymous Republican moaned. “I say a lot of sh-- on TV defending him ... We're going to lose the House, lose the Senate, and lose a bunch of states because of him. All his supporters will blame us for what we have or have not done, but he hasn't led.”

Within a couple of days of that conversation, House Speaker Paul Ryan would announce he would not contest his seat in the November midterms. Ryan is one of 43 House Republicans to announce they are retiring, running for another office or resigning, the highest number in the party’s modern history.

Blasts heard in Damascus as Donald Trump orders air strikes on Syria - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

  Australia supports strikes: Turnbull
"Australia supports these strikes, which demonstrate a calibrated, proportionate and targeted response," Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said in a statement.
"They send an unequivocal message to the Assad regime and its backers, Russia and Iran, that the use of chemical weapons will not be tolerated.
"The use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, under any circumstances is illegal and utterly reprehensible. The Assad regime must not be allowed to commit such crimes with impunity.

How often have we heard just what a waste of time the UN is and it should be shut down scrapped from Andrew Bolt? Time and time again, so much so, he sounds like a bogged car spinning its wheels in a clay. He's the same with Global warming. He Abbott and his ultra-conservative mates have remained deniers spinning they're anti-warming messages for well over a decade. Meanwhile however modelling and forecasting have made enormous progress but Bolt still remains stuck in one spot playing the same old tune. That's why he's so suss because that tune of his is becoming less relevant.. In this case of the bombing of Syria Trump waited for intelligence, allied support and that UN agreement which  Bolt and the ultra-right declare a total waste of time.

Denver Post

“The quack, the charlatan, the jingo, and the terrorist, can flourish only where the audience is deprived of independent access to information.”
However flawed our most important media institutions may be, this deprivation is something your columnist has been shouting about as long as he has been a columnist. Today, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, we have lost more than half of the newspaper jobs we had just 15 years ago. What is less well known is how much worse the problem is in the middle of the country, where Trump has been so successful in suckering voters into voting against their own interests. According to a 2017 Politico report, 73 percent of all Internet-publishing jobs are concentrated in coastal cities like New York City; Washington, DC; and Los Angeles.
