Across All Seven Continents, #RiseForClimate Actions Demand Elected Leaders Commit to Fossil-Free Future
How many marchers could Andrew Bolt or LNP Conservatives cobble together for coal and fossil fuels (ODT)
Building on actions that kicked off earlier this week, activists on Saturday hosted hundreds of #RiseForClimate demonstrations across all seven continents, drawing massive crowds "to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil-free world that puts people and justice before profits."
As of this writing, there were more than 900 actions in 95 countries, according to the searchable database that enables those interested to locate protests in their area.
The main event was the Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice march in San Francisco, California, which is brought together some 30,000 people and is being hailed as the West Coast's largest climate march ever.

The ABC's Tom Tilley asks Chelsea Manning about her leaking of secret documents when a US soldier: "Some of your leaked documents were found in Osama Bin Laden's compound though, after his death, that's information in the hands of one of America's biggest enemies. Do you have any regrets about that outcome?" Great question. Interview ends abruptly. - Andrew Bolt seems to have no respect for the separation of powers when it comes to the Judiciary in any Democracy. He certainly doesn't in Australia and he disregards pardons if they come from the Democrats in the USA. His leanings are more of that of a childish brat that that approval only comes when it's bound by the values of his side rather than any principles. The evidence of that is his maintenance that he's a victim of the law and those who have records served but whose opinions he disagrees with need never be declared forgiven even after time served. How often have we heard Bolt drag up the past records of people in the audience of Q&A to disqualify questions and comments made like Zacky Mullah. Bolt is the first to deny the principles and values of our Democracy when judging others. He certainly doesn't do the same for those he promotes on his show that's for sure.
- Manning served her time and yes was pardoned. Julian Assange has never been for merely publishing information given him. Rupert Murdoch was questioned and did a deal for running an organization that illegally phone tapped peoples privacy to gather information to print. Murdoch was guilty but struck a deal that had his staff imprisoned in order to avoid the same for himself. However here is Bolt praising the ABC for what he hates the ABC for doing to the likes of the Conservatives showing the ABC isn't as biased as Bolt makes out but Manning whose pardon was contingent on factors Bolt certainly knows nothing about being slammed by him. Meanwhile, Bolt happily promotes people convicted of various illegalities on his show, in print and where ever he can avoiding their histories but certainly not others. In particular, those that don't have access to media platforms as he does to sell a packaged product. Where on earth would Bolt be today without our ABC and his betrayal of any others whose bodies Murdoch media helped a souffle to rise.
