Andrew Bolt was in the Supreme Court today defending his use of language in a defamation case brought against him by David Barrow. He has all the backing of News Corps money and lawyers defending him. Now that's a 'girly man'
Bolt is tries to defend Corman by dragging up a 10 year old 9 second video pulled from the archives by a staffer. He suggests that the words "girly man' used by a woman said to a man are the same as used by Corman to Shorten man to a man 2014. Further that calling Corman a "dickhead" is far worse.
Firstly "dickhead" has been in the dictionary for over 50 years and basically means stupid idiot which Corman was, trying to mimic Arnold Swartzenagger. He was being a twat under the circumstance.
Secondly a woman calling a man girly doesn't carry the same impact and is far less challenging than male to male as Corman intended
No matter what Bolt says trying to hose this issue down it doesn't work and he just draws more attention to it. It's the sort of help Corman wouldn't want . Bolt also is being a dickhead.
