McGregor tells of Abbott’s grace - which many on the Left threw in his face

Bolt is a troubled person. Abbott is married has three daughters has parents and a gay sister. He has a personal life and personal friendships and  people love him. Wow! Bolt seems to think we the public aren't sufficiently aware of this and that Abbott needs a McGregor and of course a Bolt who seems to want to upstage McGregor to tell us.

In fact Bolt seems to be projecting himself  how one dimensional he must see himself .  He craves for somebody to speak up for him as he does for Abbott. The problem is nobody seems in a hurry to do so. I  doubt there is another dimension.

Sorry Bolt all these warm and fuzzy qualities of 'grace etc' are in no way a guarantee of good leadership. As the public we judge Abbott on his public persona as we do Bolt. We judge Abbott on his policies. Unfortunately to date these have been a collection of extraordinary gaffes and poor communication not only domestically but also internationally.  Dissatisfaction is expressed at Tony Abbott PM via anger, abuse, satire  any way that satisfies a need. However when it comes to Bolt, his public persona and his private  aren't seen as different from the elitist, racist, anti - Muslim un-Australian,  un-democratic and ego serving person not just personality he is.

Dangerous story

Is this post meant to be a comment or just yet a boring aside about opposition media? No it's a media performance. Bolt acting the martyr of media regulation and Section 18C. This paste is just too  much for this gutless commentator he needs to succumb dramatization like an operatic silent screen performance. What a childish suck.

You see this another opportunity to cry out for 'collective punishment'. Why because  some miscreants abuse the system. As far as Bolt is concerned the whole community to be punished.. Bolt's want is to remove subsidized housing that is at all associated with any positive discrimination. For Bolt this keeps people dependent. Again for a few cases  the need for 'collective punishment'. You will never hear the success positive discrimination has had in India. You will in time hear it criticized by him in the actions of the Victorian government's quotas for women. However in the meantime Bolt is reminding us how he's has been hard done by.

If you don’t love Australia, leave :A to letter Andrew Bolt

Greece demands $400 billion in war compensation from Germany

The man from Aalsmere has declared that compensation for WW2 is not available to Greece even the conversation shouldn't be allowed.

According to Bolt if Germany says no that's the end of the matter no  further dialogue is needed. Here is an acceptance that corporations now have greater rights than any democratic sovereign states.  Austerity or nothing is Bolt's cry can't you hear his heels clicking. Germany was given no interest loans and extremely generous terms for it's humane recovery post WW2. The same consideration and discussion is being  asked for. Greece doesn't want to default but it does have other options.

Well Greece does have much more  humane alternatives. Default and leave the EU.  Russia would it seems be only too willing to help. China as well BRICS just might help by paying out the EU and providing a more humane payment format. The USA certainly doesn't like that.

Commercially Greece could become a permanent address for the Modern Olympic Games given that so many countries are reluctant to take on the burden. If that were to happen the problem of $$$ and debt would be solved.

Bolt's all or nothing approach gives no consideration to people but every consideration to profit.

Why these complaints only now? And why no demands that such detainees never be let in?

Rape in Nauru and the "accused" was immediately accepted as a legitimate refugee and set for release in NG. Isn't that of interest to Bolt?

What of the fact that the staff at the Nauru detention have called it to be closed down is that some media conspiracy? What of the fact that Scott Morrison sacked staff as if 'rogues' and then ordering a slow mo investigation to save his arse. That will never be discussed by Bolt. Nauru staff call for closure of asylum centre and royal commission into abuse | World news

Greens use Anzac sacrifice to demand more time off

"How scummy. A grab for cash, using as camouflage the soldiers for whom Greens generally show little respect."

The layabouts Bolt calls casualised workers who haven't a clue the hours or shifts their bosses are going to give them. Those who work 60 hours a week just to make ends meet. Lazy mothers the banks won't lend them money because the notion of permanent steady work has been taken away by small businesses that  suddenly go under without paying their super obligations or money owed only to rise up again like phoenix to rip others off. Who are the scummy cash grabbers? There's hundreds out there in all sorts of industries ripping workers off without a mention from Bolt.

If the Age is so shocked by Leyonhjelm, why does it let its columnists write worse?

Comedy of manners my god the consequence of politicians being called names it must smart. Julia Gillard gave as good as she got Bolt. Her response to Abbott echoed around the world and defined him for who he was. It hasn't washed off even now. All this pales in the face of Bolt's insults of Islam the Indigenous, his schoolboy sniggering at LBGTs and his disrespect of science and scientists who are  doing the professional research and putting this country on the map. Bolt goes further than name calling he applauds collective punishment because one or two individuals have crossed his moral line . This all comes from a dickhead who denies concepts of society, race, and that people be treated as individuals.

Does Bolt actually do any work?

Another Labor leader crippled by the unions

It's not May day but today is the day  for union bashing.  It's something that's occurred throughout the history of the unions. It provided Australia with the standard of living it has no thanks to business.

There is absolutely nothing in the link to suggest Bolt's heading it's just a lie. Nobody has been crippled even by Murdoch rumor.

Victorian Labor dodges its creditors

"What a joke. I’d laugh if it wasn’t costing this state a ghastly amount of money and the delay of a project the state badly needs."

1. It's not Labor's contract and it's extremely responsible of Labor to settle this in the best possible manner for the state. It's laughable to see Bolt weeping for the the contractors who put in place a devious contract.

2 The 'project the state badly needs' is not a project to be is not a project determined by News Corp. Nor was it a responsible project evaluated by a previously responsible government. Given it was the central issue of the election and even Abbott declared it a referendum. News Corps reaction what it is. Sour grapes of an elitist group who refuses to accept the conservative loss. You can't expect any more.

Our biggest export earner falls again in price. This will hurt us all

Yes our biggest export earner is falling. Wayne Swan was faced with this same problem. Every country is faced with these possibilities.  Stating the obvious is stating nothing.

The automatic response here is "poor miners" however business is a risk activity requiring good management. One needs to ask, what happened to profits accrued in the boom times? Profits that weren't taxed. Were they simply reinvested for ever increasing expansion? Were profits paid out to shareholders or ferreted away to overseas accounts or other businesses? Were management paid huge bonuses? There seems to have been some exceptionally poor management going on.

" warned last month that the tactics of BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Vale had the potential to push prices as low as $US30."

The competition between mining companies  is dragging the prices down because of a current over supply. The best managed companies will be left standing and as usual smaller ones will get swallowed up or go under. Production needs to be cut to drive prices up in a low demand market. If the competition is global that poses a difficulty of it's own. However one thing stands out the lack of management and foresight  in this free market didn't work.  However you can be sure the managers  good or bad of these companies haven't sustained any losses only gains.

This once happened to our wool industry. It was  bailed out by us the tax payers. It happened to wheat the same. Will we be expected to bail out mining as well? We already subsidise it.

Had there been a mining tax and a future fund in place  in  the heady days the current circumstance wouldn't appear as serious as it is. However this was reneged by the Abbott and the Howard governments who still claim to be the best of managers. Norway set an example when we tried to follow it, it was knocked on the head.

Concessions for the “rich” aren’t the problem

Blocked link asking for $$

CIS is a libertarian think tank that argues 'free market' 'small government' and are often in conflict with those considered 'centrist or left' 'left' . It's totally against any market manipulation from an outside source. Taxing the wealthy is not a solution to the deficit problem is the purpose of Bolt's message. No it's not the only or total solution however it is part of the solution and shouldn't just be discounted as Bolt's selected paste implies. Our missed opportunity to tackle wealth inequality

Rupert Murdoch’s US empire siphons $4.5b from Australian business virtually tax-free

Unions which attack Ferguson aren’t worth joining

Bolt's link is to Janet Albrechtesen who when not a Murdoch wasp has openly declared she loves listening to news radio and the ABC.

How is it heroes are only those whistle blowers who oppose  left policies? Ferguson and Kathy Jackson Abbot's short lived Joan of Arc ? Whistleblowers who reveal the lies and crimes of corporations are simply  sacked and fade away.  Have you ever heard Bolt  cry for a CEO of a bank to be criminally charged or any of the management for lining their pockets with bonuses?  No they scapegoat workers call them 'rogues' dismisse them and say they were victims as well.   The same is not allowed of unions or their management Ferguson in this case is their rogue but not according to Bolt. You don't hear Murdoch media calling for the public boycotting of banks or insurance companies where hundreds of millions of dollars were ripped off. You don't hear them calling for the dismissal of the management or the systemic nature of the crime. Corporations are portrayed as victims and their workers blamed.

In any association of workers the slightest misdemeanour or  organisational  error is portrayed as the systemic a fault of the whole organization. Left organizations don't have the media backing of the Murdoch press to go in to bat for them. If it's a union  News Corp become vigilantes if it's a however corporation they as apologists.  Bolt doesn't give a fuck about Ferguson it's an opportunity for union bashing. There's no consideration for workers.
