O’Keefe: Islam a great religion

However I'll give it a shot Bolt

Bolt says little or nothing here. Pauline Hanson however declares Islam is "not a religion" it's a political ideology. Bolt's silent on that one. He's denied that himself.  But he's doing what Conservatives have always done. Historically they once ran that same line against Catholics and spread the same regressive line that Catholicism was anti- Democracy.  They too were breeders loyal primarily to the Vatican before Australia.  Back then if followed  Tony Abbott's loyalty  to the Vatican preceded  his loyalty to Australia. That seemed to fade away after Jack Kennedy was voted the first Catholic President of the USA. GOP just gave the argument away but it's here reborn and as such it's moving forward backwards.

Sadiq Khan has been voted mayor of London it says more about London than  the bigoted conservatives have been saying and more than Murdoch was able to prevent. Bolt simply ignored it because it doesn't fit useful for him to import as news.It actually shows there is a major disjunct between reality and what the conservative media report.

Andrew O'keefe's smirk is not what Bolt suggests it is when he says Islam is one of the "great Abrahamic religions" it's a smirk at Bolt's fellow traveller Pauline Hanson. If these believers  in the  economic charity of the trickle down effect of Christian values in a capitalist market is the best, how is it surveys have shown that Muslims give 4x more to charity in the UK than  Christians do. These are Hanson's the political subversives here too.  Why is it that Islamic finance of small loans to women's small business enterprises have less of a loss rate than Western Christian banks. Is it because they they have no interest in the success of the borrower or more? Australian banks give no thought to the needs of their credit card clients they can't lose because of their 20% lending rates. Islamic banks even charge what Australian banks project as a loss in the vicinity of 5%. This alone puts Pauline Hanson's argument that Islam is an amoralistic political ideology to sleep. Notice how silent Bolt is. It's not an indication of intelligence is it?

I end this as a joke: When Pauline served Andrew Bolt in her fish shop he noticed it was full of rats. He said he could help her and pulled out his News Corp flute and led them out and down to the river where they drowned. He came back and asked "can I do any more?" Pauline asked " Do you have a Didgereedo? "

Column - We cannot keep living in this fear

Bolt the self proclaimed Nationalist and flag waving Australian imports hate where hate doesn't exist. Only in the hearts of some individuals that fail to describe the country. Bolt is one of those exceptions that proves the rule Australia is a great multicultural country. Bolt however imports myths hate lies about terror so disconnected from the reality here they are no more than a work of poor fiction. His is a bad attempt at a zombie novel or about one of contagion. Here is an excerpt fro Bolt's World War Z knock off. "Nor can we keep letting in carriers of a faith whose most dogmatic believers wish to destroy us.And if our politicians will not speak frankly and protect us from Islam, watch out for a civil war. A frightened public will not put up with this for much longer and will defend themselves. " Bolt

Apparently he can gather 400 to listen to him rail about these and other dangers compiled in his book of doom. Of the dangers that lurk in Lakemba ,Coburg and Dandenong.  However the huddled cowering Australian community that Bolt describes so fearful of Muslims doesn't exist . The reality is happy, sunny days and nights and Australians enjoying themselves       Thousands flock to Ramadan food festival in Sydney, boost Lakemba ...

Sydney not Bolt's book sale of hate, but the Ramadan Festival celebation of life

Ramadan food festival in Lakemba

And thousands will flock to that festival and other festivals around the country like it again and again. They are Bolt free zones. Bolt the self proclaimed border protector imports hate and lies from all over the world. He tries to have it impact on our lives why? Yet it's a distortion of his own making. To declare Nice as  another Islamist attack on the world is simply another lie like Orlando.  One he seems to hope will  be copied here. In a way he encourages it to happen with his constant vilification and message of hate not only against Islam but Muslims too the 500,000 that are Aussies. He's had success which he fails to mention the well loved Afghan kid shot in Melbourne hasn't been mentioned.'Real family kid': Footy club pays tribute to slain teen Rahat Khan

However his story using Nice as an Islamist attack is simply a lie  and when caught out he will never apologize for. How much ignorance and hate can one man be allowed to spread under the guise of discussion opinion and debate. His is a call to arms it isn't just opinion it's action.   Nice attack live: Photo emerges of Bastille Day killer as relative says 'he was no Muslim' - latest news | Europe | News | The Independent

Even Bouhlel's French neighbours agreed that he was not religious." Bouhlel worked as a delivery driver and had recently split up with his wife, with whom he had three children."  This suggests he was in fact more like Andrew Bolt prone to domestic violence  an angry arsehole who didn't really know the difference between fantasy and reality either until his wife left him. Bolt's domestic violence is just as psychologically distorted. He's putting his whole family at risk by his egocentric and Walter Mitty activities. The difference his family hasn't left him.Nice terror attack: Truck driver who killed 84 named as 'loner' French-Tunisian criminal who 'became depressed' when wife left him as police question estranged spouse

Turnbull buys the Liberal Party and breaks it

The Oligarchs have withdrawn funding and directed it to the revival and re-installment of Lazarus. It's right in front of us and has been since Abbott's disposal. It's in the News Corp headlines. The Spectator Quadrant and Catallaxy file articles and the funding is not going to the Liberal Party only a section of it the ultra conservatives. This is what Bolt meant when he said the conservatives were the only winners. Bernardi has been fully funded as has the newly cashed up XYZ. Yes the Oligarchs are desperate and with the help of the IPA and Murdoch will do anything to stop what interferes with their bottom line.

Malcolm Turnbull in fact is a traitor to their cause and this Ultra Right Collective are simply trying to kill the grass roots individualism that they can't control to rid us of the ABC, Renewable Energy, Investigation into the Banks, Corporate regulation , Penalty rates etc etc. Remember when Abbott sacked 3.500 tax investigators. Yes there is a war and it is a money war those with against those without. The tax they avoided is actually being plowed back to subsidize their interests which would be best served by Tony Abbott. Who is really paying? We are with  this tax avoidance ,tax deductible activity disguised as business and hidden donations we are paying. Think Gina, Rupert and the other 0.5%ers.

Even this election  was orchestrated by the IPA and John Stone's directive to conservatives on how to vote . This wasn't a protest but a plan for a forthcoming coup Voting against Turnbull’s team Andrew Bolt played his media role in this IPA's backed scheme. He helped advertise and promote it, How can Bolt be regarded as just a commentator when in fact he's a  paid campaigner on Sky etc and subsidized by all of us. It is a hidden donation to a minority party but currently within a party. Labor senator Sam Dastyari claims 10 companies have taken control of Australian politics  Bolt says " the Conservatives are the only winners" and  Mussolini said

He was a Journalist too

Coup in Turkey

Soldiers stand guard as protesters gather in Taksim square in Ankara.

"  The army has traditionally wanted a more secular country, as Ataturk insisted."

This just what Israel didn't want Secular Arabic states. Israel prefers the existence of fragmented sectarian divisions. It can always find it easier to manipulate division than a united front. Qaddafi, and Saddam are gone. They failed in Egypt when they along with the US supported the Brotherhood and now they seem to be failing in Syria to remove Assad by lending support to the terrorists. Sectarian division takes the focus off Israel allowing them to operate in a clandestine fashion. It's why Israel for the moment supports Erdogan in Turkey despite him having fundamentalist leanings. This coup in Turkey seems far too complex for Bolt and his simplistic middle eastern explanations. He is no friend of Turkey and is doing little more than reporting events. It's why he remains  silent  on so many aspects of what Israel actually does. He never really said much when his favorite colleague Shari Markson was arrested either. So many truths remained untold.

Tips for Saturday, July 17

When somebody is so pissed he doesn't know what day it is. Here is a tip  from John Lord about this book. A tip from a man that can write about a man that can't. Day to Day: Politics: The book that never Bolted. - » The Australian Independent Media Network

1 I was walking through our local newsagency this week when I happened to notice a book titled “Worth Fighting For”. The author’s name was Andrew Bolt. Not knowing that it was a new title I thought it must have been the original book he had written. Anyway I picked it up wondering why anyone would want to read it and casually flipped through its contents. It was just a collection of his newspaper writing. I came across his piece about Adam Goodes and the girl at the MCG. A disgraceful exhibit of bad journalism if ever you have read one.
I recalled writing a rebuttal of his take on the events at the time; ‘Deconstructing Andrew Bolt‘. Coincidentally, the same day I was idly surfing the web and I came across an article about his book written by Osman Faruqi for Junkee. The writer said that the book was released in June and that to date had sold 713 copies.
Book industry sources confirmed that figure to Junkee today, citing the Nielsen Bookscan database that tracks book sales across the country. When it was first released Bolt accused booksellers of placing a “ban” on its sale and quoted a number of commenters on his website who struggled to find the book in shelves.”
The article goes on to suggest the Bolt is upset that his work is not being displayed in conspicuous places in stores.
But Faruqi suggests that:
A bigger issue for Bolt was probably the fact that a number of bookstores simply refused to stock his book altogether. When it was first released Junkee thought it might be worth reviewing, given Bolt’s enormous national media profile and influence on Australian conservative politics, but we struggled to find a store that stocked it.
We checked more than half a dozen book stores around inner-city Sydney and none of them were stocking the book. A number of sales staff laughed in our faces when we asked for a copy.
The experience reminded me of when in a writing class I attended we would discuss journalism. Andrew Bolt and the Herald Sun or the Daily Telegraph would always be at the centre of our discussion. The course facilitator, herself a former journalist would observe that the articles were written for the intelligence of thirteen year olds with the attention span of six-year olds.
They were rarely more than 300 words. As a journalist she had little respect for Andrew Bolt who she said didn’t know how to construct a challenging sentence let alone use thought-provoking words.
And let us not forget what Justice Bromberg, said about Bolt’s use of language:
“His style and structure is highly suggestive and designed to excite. His style was ”not careful, precise or exact” and the language not moderate or temperate but often strong and emphatic”. There is a liberal use of sarcasm and mockery,” he wrote. Language of that kind has a heightened capacity to convey implications beyond the literal meaning of the words utilised. It is language, which invites the reader to not only read the lines, but to also read between the lines”.
Anyway I just thought I would let those of you busting your gut to get a copy just what the difficulty is. If you come across more than one would you please, in the interest of decent factual journalism please destroy them?
An observation.
“If a newspaper article is written in a manner to suggest objectivity but subjective words are scattered throughout it together with carefully phrased unsupported statements then dismiss the article as having no cogency“.
