Power at Any Price: The LNP's Preference Deals - » The Australian Independent Media Network
Conclusion
These two preference deals show the conservative parties either playing disgusting political games or exposing their true roots. Whatever the motivation/s, the point is clear: power at all costs. Such unscrupulous deals, and the odium of the proposed partners, surely undermines the legitimacy of any government so formed.

'IMPARTIAL' ABC PRESENTER HELPS RECRUIT FOR BOB BROWN
The biggest lie about the ABC is that it's not biased. Presenters no longer even pretend to abide by that charter obligation. Here is presenter Wendy Harmer urging people to join Bob Brown's crazy protest against the Adani coal mine.
PAYWALL
Millions have been spent trying to destroy the ABC. They have been attempting to prove she doesn't abide by her Charter that individual broadcasters like Wendy Harmer are biased and by slashing funding have tried to drain Aunty of its lifeblood in the hope she will wither and die. This government has cut $395million off the ABCs budget in 5 years forcing it to operate on a budget equivalent to 1984. Without the ABC the News Corp corporation would become the equivalent of our State-run media as it is in the USA for Trump... Heaven help us.
Right-wing parasites termites no, hit men, mainly from News Corp, have attacked Aunty from a distance. No talent of their own they have made their reputations nipping at the ABC moved on and come back like Andrew Bolt. Loyalless sycophants who would be nobodies without the publicly owned broadcaster. They regularly attack the ABC in turn to please their corporate handlers. News Corp lackeys continuously, but always just a few, buzzing voices, short of a protest.
Professional gnats yelling from the bleachers they fail time and time again no matter how many investigative committees are set up or how many board members are appointed how much money is withheld or how many people they have sacked these losers fail. People like Bolt wouldn't have jobs without the ABC; it's where they steal their ideas from. The ABC is, in fact, their source of energy. Bolt would still be writing obituary columns for some local paper without the ABC.
You see while News Corp and Sky News is made up of clones cut from the same cloth. Bolt, Murray, Kenny, Panahi, Dean Henderson etc. the ABC is known for its diversity and different skill sets. Yes, everyone is different in some way and yet be balanced as a whole. Each time conservative governments promise or try to attack Aunty they back off and leave people like Bolt yelling from a distance. While even they quieten down at times so as not to be too obvious but you're guaranteed they dutifully return in the hope of cannibalising and weakening the publicly owned broadcaster a little more. It's been going on for over 50 years when the LNP has been in power.
They dare not make the ABC an election issue because they know it's a losing cause whether in opposition or government these conservative hyenas at best can only nip at Aunty and will continue to do so. Bolt needs the ABC more than Wendy Harmer as she has other skills which she can turn to Bolt hasn't. It's why he's never left, News Corp.
APOLOGY TO BOB BROWN. HE'S OPENED MY EYES TO THE CRAZINESS
COLUMN It hurts, but I must apologise to former Greens leader Bob Brown for accusing him of running the most hypocritical protest I’ve seen. In my defence, what idiots protest against global warming by driving 400 cars, almost all petrol-driven, between Tasmania and the Adani coal mine? But then I learned something that makes Bill Shorten look worse.
A survey of 300,000 voters not Newspolls 1500
MORRISON SLASHES LABOR'S LEAD: 49 PER CENT TO 51
Bill Shorten had a terrible two weeks on the election campaign - and the latest Newspoll will make him very nervous: "An exclusive Newspoll ... shows the Coalition has improved its two party preferred vote by one point and now trails Labor 49-51." What odds on this provoking Malcolm Turnbull into derailing the Liberals?
Vote Compass reveals what Aussies think of our political leaders — and it's not pretty
MORRISON DOES WHAT TURNBULL COULDN'T, AS LIBS RECOVER
COLUMN The Liberals won the first two weeks of this election campaign and one thing is clear: they couldn’t have done it with Malcolm Turnbull. Dumping Turnbull as prime minister last year was no mistake. Scott Morrison is now making this once-unwinnable election a contest by fighting like Turnbull couldn’t and on issues Turnbull wouldn’t.
SOCIALIST SHORTEN'S PAY RISE, WITH YOUR MONEY
Taxpayers in the private sector have had almost no wages growth, but Labor leader Bill Shorten is going to use their taxes to give a big government-funded rise for child-care workers: "Shorten [vowed] that Labor would increase the average wage in the sector by $11,300 on top of the award rate in the next eight years." So generous - with your money.
DRUMMING THE CONSERVATIVES OUT OF THE ABC
ABC PURGES IPA The Mocker says the ABC's The Drum has banned the Institute of Public Affairs for a year. But look who it welcomes on its panels: "Per Capita, a think tank which espouses “...social justice”... featured 10 times. The Diversity Council of Australia scored six appearances, as did Human Rights Watch and Change.org... GetUp!... featured eight times."
PAYWALL
What a bleeding heart Bolt is bleeding for the IPA. We don't know why because it's a PAYWALL The Mocker in the Australian who it's been suggested is none other Chris Kenny has put this out and is Bolt's reference. Kenny who told the refugee detention camp at Nauru was a beach holiday destination where he would love to spend family time. The Drum welcomes diversity on it's show something Andrew Bolt doesn't it welcomes open debate something The Bolt Report doesn't. What it doesn't is welcome is offensive behaviour which it rules clearly state to all guests. So if there was any truth in the ban, then we clearly know why. There aren't too many rules on the show. The Banner is purely a piece of advertising copy that will no doubt take you down a road to nowhere. We do know what the IPA proposes however Coalition MPs urged to sell the ABC and support a flat tax in IPA call
What's clear is neoliberal, white, supremacist, ethnocentric, racist complainers like Andrew Bolt who whinge about immigration and only want upper class and working class Caucasian Westerners as welcome immigrants to Australia, not others arguing we have a right who should be able to come here. The problem is they don't want to come. So he prefers nobody other than wealthy refugees and at worst monied Asians. Bolt's policy, however, if it gained traction, would shrink our economy so much we'd be facing recession. He ignores the fact that non-European immigrants are the highest in starting up businesses and employing others. They also seem to be the most intelligently ambitious given their children's school results. All this counters Bolt's emotional, racist and ethnocentric fear that he applies to Australia's immigration policies. We don't have the luxury of choosing who comes because those Bolt wants don't seem interested, and those who Bolt doesn't want aren't. What he doesn't tell us though is the Africans he rails against tend to be more educated and skilled than he is.
What Andrew Bolt doesn't like to admit is that those he doesn't want really appreciate being here unlike him for the very secular values we support. When Andrew Bolt doesn't. He doesn't like to holiday here, dreams of retirement elsewhere, in cities that are more congested, more multicultural and even more socialist than Australian ones. That's what makes him such a bullshit artist hypocrite, and I guess the ugliest of Australians. The most flattering thing that might be said of him.
