World Relieved That Level-Headed, Compassionate Leader In Charge During Biggest Crisis In A Generation – The Shovel

Is there a good safe anti-viral drug readily available that seems to work on SARS-CoV-2? Indomethacin is such a drug. Anyone can make it and sell it. It’s safe to use in people. So what’s to lose? asks Dr James Freeman.
In the X-Files they said “the truth is out there”. What if it was, but it was being drowned in all the chatter about coronavirus?
A few days ago, a patient shared a research paper with me. It’s so relevant I thought I would share it with you. It’s a truth, it’s out there, but nobody seems to be taking notice …
No, this is not a conspiracy theory blog. This is a “here is a good safe drug readily available that seems to work on coronavirus” blog.
Now SARS from back in 2003/4 is not exactly the same as SARS-CoV-2 but it is very similar. Will this drug that worked in a test tube and in dogs against SARS work in humans against SARS-CoV-2? The answer is that nobody knows but I’m thinking that if I got a bit feverish, had a headache and had a cough I might just leave the aspirin on the shelf and use some Indomethacin instead.
We do know it’s safe in people and it does good just as a pain killer so there is not a lot to lose.
Just my 10c and subject to being proven snake oil but it seemed worthy of a share. On that note, can you share it too? Right this second, this old research paper seems to have been drowned in the noise.
Then again, Indomethacin is an old drug, first patented in 1961 so anybody can make it and sell it. With no money in proving it works, I can understand the focus on more profitable opportunities but if there was ever a time to put people before patents and profits, now would be it.

African Nations Turn the Tables, Imposing Travel Restrictions Against U.S., Europe, and China to Stave Off Coronavirus

After their experience with Ebola, many African nations built up their medical infrastructure and know how to fight the spread of Covid-19.

 FAKE NEWS

Bolt would never suggest taking advice from Africa remember his advice on the Ebola scare "shut the door and don't help"(ODT)

ACT NOW OR MORE WILL DIE LATER

COLUMN The Australians who ransacked our supermarkets for canned food might be the smart ones, after all. Yes, Australia has had “only” 256 cases of coronavirus. But new cases jumped around 25 per cent on Saturday. Three weeks of just 20 per cent more cases every day brings us to nearly 10,000 cases, when we're already short of protective equipment.

 Bolt's Threat

Andrew Bolt is the REAL IDEAL role model of an Aussie, isn't he?  You can imagine him on the Titanic pushing his way to the front throwing babies overboard yelling "everyone for themselves". He's the Aussie neighbour you wouldn't want if your house was on fire, no, if you were on fire. Simply said he wouldn't piss on you.
Yesterday he suggested those ransacking the supermarkets might be the smartest of us all because they and their families can wipe their arses for the next two weeks or at most 30 days. Meanwhile, 6 billion people in the world don't use toilet paper to move shit from one part of their bum to another and call it clean they actually wash.
"Don't Panic" is the advice given but guess what Bolt seems to be doing panicking and telling us to join him because the sky is falling in. We have heard that before haven't we and Tony Abbott grabbed control of the country. Bolt's in the threatening position holding the News Corp megaphone and yelling panic to all their 3 mill readers.
It's not advice but more likely Bolt like the Kardashians is about to tell you he has the set up a company with a cure-all product that will save us and you can now buy it on eBay, FB, and a wide range of online stores. Or is he about to tell us that there is one man who can save us and he needs to be brought back from the dead?
The average age of those dying in Italy of Covid-19 is currently 81 which is almost, what, 3 years off the life expectancy of the average Australian male today. Those dying at 81were Italy's least healthy the poorest on every social metric. So if that's the case is Bolt's promoting panic as the wisest or dumbest option you ever heard.
What needs to be done is to take care of Australia's weakest and poorest first and not just throw them overboard.

THE DAY GEORGE PELL'S SUPPORTERS DARED TO HOPE

COLUMN Cardinal George Pell’s defenders suddenly dare to hope the High Court will say he’s innocent. Their hopes soared last Thursday, after Kerri Judd QC tried to tell the High Court why Pell really did rape two boys but had to wrestle with an awkward reality: Pell could not have raped them when the prosecution had claimed he did.
16/03/2020
Paternalistic posturing by a vigilante with exclusive access to media industry technology remains no substitute for law and the meticulous process that took so long to arrive at the current situation. 99% of ordinary Australian citizens haven't the funds that Pell has access to, to bring him here.
" No one should accuse Judd of incompetence. I suspect she’s a a conscientious lawyer who had to wrestle with an awkward reality: Pell could not have raped those boys when the prosecution had claimed he did."
Andrew Bolt once believed he had the full backing of News Corpse only to find he hadn't and their 5-star lawyers refused to back him in appeal believing "guilty" was the satisfactory end to Bolt's racial vilification case. Bolt like a spoilt child back then threatened to spit the dummy and resign and did News Corp feel threatened by his leaving not in the least. The law had taken its course.
Bolt whinged and whinged and used his position with a promised arrangement to support Tony Abbott on a Trump-like quid pro quo basis only to find Abbott grabbed the quid and failed to follow through with the quo and change the RDA Act. Bolt's been guilty, for what is it 11 years and it's only because the people he vilified didn't demand anything he got off lightly.
All this cost money, money Bolt wouldn't have spent money the Catholic Church didn't spend on lesser beings priests that News Corp hasn't put effort into defending the way Pell has been by this gang of street corner bovver boys who have done their best to not allow the law to run its due course. As far as Bolt is concerned the separation of powers is it seems s failure of any constitutional democracy. One thing is for certain Pell has been found guilty in the eyes of the Catholic Church. Just as Bolt was in 2011 by News Corp.
