Fighting Fake News with REAL 27/8/21; Democracy Corrupted; Taylor's "CoalKeeper" Public Handouts; Gas; Trump's Wall blown over by Climate; Truckies Strike on Toll

Morrison’s reliance on Private MainStream Media not to keep repeating and reminding us of his history of failing inaction and actions predicated, solely on his political numbers, to repeatedly gaslight misinform and not provide the service he was appointed to do has been his defining approach to government. He holds the media’s purse strings and Murdoch, Costello, Stokes, Ch10, and WiNN know it. However Murdoch as the biggest private influencer who is intent on getting the biggest portion of the LNPs budget leans the Morrison government to where the wealth is.

A political party with the sole purpose of eradicating Federal Government corruption has been registered in time for the next election, but may not make it to the starting gate. Investigations editor Ross Jones reports.THIS WEEK, the Morrison Government provided new proof – if any was still required – that Australia needs to police its politicians.

The price of corruption: Taylor's 'CoalKeeper' tax to cost households up to $400 a year

The term "Public Handouts" in this context is an oxymoron. The money might well be ours but it's not a handout but money taken from Peter to pay Paul for his support and donations

As a block, the two major parties voted to give our money, public money, to corporations to drill for coal...We don’t need more gas, that’s a myth peddled by Australia’s most powerful lobby groups such as APPEA, in turn controlled by foreign fossil fuel corporations such as Shell and Exxon. They voted to make a US billionaire richer. For, among the prospective winners from this act of political betrayal, is Tamboran Resources, a speculative explorer backed by a US shale-oil billionaire. That company, incredibly, is threatening to sue Michael West Media and gas analyst Bruce Robertson from IEEFA, for defamation. So, effectively, Parliament has voted to give money to a US billionaire threatening to sue a small independent journalism business in Australia for exercising free speech, threatening to soak up the time in the Australian courts attempting to muzzle journalists with the menace of making them bankrupt.

When Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign in 2015 by saying “Nobody builds walls better than me”, it was to say the least a questionable claim. Monsoon rains “literally blew floodgates off their hinges”. Gizmodo blamed the failure at least partly on rushed construction and an alleged bypassing of environmental regulations.“Who could have predicted this? Ah yes, just about everyone,” author Brian Kahn wrote, linking to an article highlighting environmental threats the wall would encounter. Earlier this year, the Guardian reported that sections costing $27m a mile could be easily scaled – using a $5 ladder. ( Guardian )

As if we needed another reason to stop what we were doing and laugh full-stop at Donald Trump, here it is. A huge section of his very great border wall was torn to shreds after heavy rains fell in southern Arizona. Yep. All it took was one little monsoon in Douglas, Arizona to tear the wall of its hinges, leaving a gaping hole in Trump’s beautiful legacy. (Much like heavy winds tore a lovely section of the wall down last year that left President Beaker with IBS.)
