Marshall McLuhan’s prophecy that “the successor to politics will be propaganda” has happened. Raw propaganda is now the rule in Western democracies, especially the U.S. and Britain.

In a slightly different context, press thuggery could be called out for “slut shaming”. They are the equivalent of schoolyard thugs. The bullies caught “getting even” with girls far smarter. Theirstock in trade genderism was used on Julia
Gillard in much the same way sniggering at her “Looks” and the clothes
she wore, trying to capture the most unflattering shot. Yes, the media are exactly what they claim not to be, and
that’s genderist, biased and to the extreme. Murdoch once built his paper business on “page 3 girls” tide of opinion and women turned the tide. But he didn’t really change did he. Then, propaganda is his real business
and corporate media are all applying that business model and they’re doing it for Scotty. However, then along came Grace.
Grace Tame has written an open letter calling out the media for publishing an old photograph of her with a bong which she labelled an “unnecessary shaming stunt”. “To every media outlet who sought to discredit me by publishing THAT photo,” the former Australian of the Year began the lengthy sequence of posts on Twitter. “Although my humour and strength remain intact, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t let me down.” Ms Tame said her status as a prominent campaigner for victims of sexual assault should have made media outlets think twice before publishing the snapshot. “Not just as an individual, but more so as an advocate of the survivor community,” she continued.

Frydenberg isn't comfortable for over a month his face as occupied the largest billboards at Kew Junction but he's remained unsighted. Meanwhile Independent challenger Dr Monique Ryan has been extremely active and engaging with the electorate. Kew is very similar to Warringah let's hope it's actually the "same". It is an educated, wealthy and politically attentive electorate that swung 16% against Frydenberg last time and he's performed worse these past 3 years. Kooyong saw the State LNP's MP Tim Smith fall on his sword after shaming himself. Frydenberg has crashed as well and more than once but in so many other ways injuring people.
It was a single recommendation: pass both bills. But in the dying days before the federal election, it was ignored, leaving victims of financial misconduct left high and dry on the political scrapheap in another week of political mudslinging and point scoring. The recommendation, released in a report this week by the Senate Economics Committee, was to pass laws to introduce a compensation scheme of last resort and a financial accountability regime.
