‘Ni**er Farming’ - Stolen Wages evidence (Apologies - racist headlines)
This appalling (and quite incredibly, from 1968) headline account is from the Northern Territory, but the same thing happened all over Australia and especially in Western Australia. Payments of wages and pensions (when both were eventually granted in the 1950/60s) for Aboriginal Stock workers (who did 99% of the work) were given to the white station manager often held in ‘trusts’
and the Aboriginal work…

Meanwhile Sky News preaches White Replacement Theory and calls support for a better quality of life for indigenous Australians and the above h  racial revelations Racist

This isn’t a new phenomenon in Australia Murdoch’s News Corp owns 66% of the print news in Australia and the majority of the rest is corporately owned as well.  It’s why we need the ABC and more independents  and local media because they stand between us and the plundering of our ability to obtain real news and information needed for a functioning Democracy. By independent I mean news and information not supported by advertising, lobby groups but by subscription only news appreciative readers.

This has rapidly become the standard business model for American newspapering. Today, more than half of all daily papers in America are in the grip of just 10 of these money syndicates. That’s why our “local” papers are dying. It’s not a failure of journalism. It’s a plunder of journalism by absentee corporate owners.

Indigenous Australia has much the same complaint that their resources are foreign owned and an appropriate tax could pay for Rewiring the Nation

A windfall profits tax levied on the export gas industry could pay for the government’s $20 billion Rewiring the Nation commitment to the energy transition and compensate households for price rises, states the Australia Institute.

Over the last week, record rains have again caused flooding in Australia, this time impacting Victoria. Although the disaster was easy to predict, the authorities took few preventative measures, and now residents are expected to bear the costs.
