News while you snoozed

  • A Kremlin-connected entrepreneur named Yevgeny Prigozhin admitted that he had interfered in US elections and would continue to do so — confirming for the first time accusations that he has rejected for years. "Gentlemen, we have interfered, are interfering and will interfere. Carefully, precisely, surgically and in our own way, as we know how to do," he said in a statement from the press service of his catering company on the eve of US midterm elections

Friends,

I intended to write today about tomorrow’s election, but every time I began I got sidetracked by two people not on any ballot but who are setting the tenor for much of what we see and hear these days.

Last Friday, Elon Musk fired half of Twitter’s 7,500 employees, so haphazardly and arbitrarily that most had no idea they were fired until their email accounts were shut off.

This was after he fired Twitter’s executives “with cause” to avoid paying them the golden parachutes they’re owed. And after he taunted Twitter and the law firm it worked with in its lawsuit against him, suggesting he would sue all of them.

Musk, Trump, and the Demeaning of America

Murdoch & Costello the Demeaning of Victoria

Peter Costello's CH9 group have remodeled themselves to compete with News Corp for the LNP's PR agency and attract revenue from the wealthiest minorities and most powerful persons and lobbyists in the State and that's certainly not individuals like you or me.

Attacks on Dan Andrews are part of News Corporation’s long abuse of power

Premier Daniel Andrews did not rule out changing laws to make it harder for journalists to report on IBAC investigations.

The Age has become a political leaflet looking for a local post box to insert itself in. The paper is so thin on news it's going the way of a stamp. What was once Victoria's premier News Paper has been turned into the LNP's local town flier in the hands of Peter Costello. Costello who was once John Howard's perennial bridesmaid looking for his prince or princess to charm and it aint the likes of Matthew Guy.

In self indulgent self defense The Age has left news behind to defend itself  in calling Dan a liar for what IBAC's Peter Redlich actually said and not Dan. A word for word stoush with Dan can be found we are told on today's front and between the Harvey N ads. Not a single paper in the State has even bothered to report on a subject that nobody is interested in but Peter Costello personally. News of his son's embarrassing court appearance failed to make it. How timely and convenient.

Victorian election

Premier Daniel Andrews has clarified that he would not introduce laws that could mean jail for reporters for revealing IBAC probes after initially saying he would not rule it out.

In a massive feat of irony, Coca-Cola, the world’s largest plastic polluter, is sponsoring COP27, the world’s largest annual environmental conference, which will take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from November 6–18.
