You can say “But communist regimes are authoritarian blah
blah” all you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that capitalism has
zero answers for the most important problems facing our species. This
still needs to be addressed, and moaning about Mao and Stalin isn’t an
answer. Don’t like the iterations of socialism we’ve seen so far? Okay.
Then find another answer, and remember we’ve already established that
capitalism is not an answer; it cannot address the problems we’ve
discussed here. So we need to find an actual answer that does actually
work.
Dismantling capitalism, if we ever achieve it, will be the
most difficult thing that humanity has ever accomplished. As hard as
everyone becoming a buddha, and essentially not much different. But that
doesn’t change the fact that it is existentially necessary for us to do
so.
We’ll either move from competition-based systems to
collaboration-based ones, eliminating all the obstacles necessary for us
to do so, or we will go extinct. We are at our adapt-or-die juncture as
a species.
Kenny MacAskill, a former Scottish justice secretary and the
MP who asked questions in parliament, tells Declassified: “This
obfuscation and avoidance is, I believe, part of a pattern of a cover up
in alliance with US authorities.”
Give credit where credit's due for fuck sake. Despite the media giants News Corp and Ch9's efforts to sway the Victorian electorate against Dan and the ALP. Despite the financial backing by the major foreign corporate sectors backing of the LNP like Mining, Gas & Oil, Gambling, Alcohol, Insurance, and Banking the "Victorian voters" chose who they wanted to represent and manage their public affairs for the next 4 years. Moreover they weren't lead conned or manipulated in that decision by any smarter or richer political operators they'd never seen before. In fact the whole of this Nation has swung left in what currently seems to be unique denial on this planet at this time. Electors of Australia have said no to the attempted rise of Christian Nationalist hard Right Politics that has overtaken and witnessed in the rest of the world.
They'd seen and felt the divisive harshness of the anti-multiculturalism the LNP had visibly showed for more than a decade, their climate change denial, and their efforts implant a history of myths in their children's minds that they knew to be fake. While the rest of Australia, no the world, was voting Victoria as Australia's most desirable tourist destination and Melbourne the worlds most friendliest city. None of which the LNP were telling us and the likes of Andrew Bolt, Rowan Dean et al and the Murdoch whingers were all denying. Dan Andrews certainly wasn't and in fact we saw him warts and all getting things done and leading the way forward not backwards.
Labor pulled off the sweetest victory by doing the job they were elected to do not because they were the "smartest machine".
There were times during the campaign when even Daniel Andrews doubted Labor would win the majority necessary to form government.
