Caitlan Johnstone argues about the "disinformation" and "misinformation" in the Western Press. She is by the way part of the Western press and is free to criticize the American government and the Western media. Yet she seems ungrateful to be so lucky. If she were Russian and in Russia would she feel as free?
Tucker Carlson feels as free as she does and is backed by Fox News to be a critic it seems of everything Biden and is regarded a media hero in Russia. Johnstone also it seems would be yet she and Carlson certainly don't sing from the same hymn book. If they were Russian journalists in Russia would be and not as critical of the Putin regime as they are of America?
Would they be critical of today's report put out about 600 Ukranians killed in Russia's "justified"self- defense of the motherland? Provoked or not Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 and Ukraine in 2022. It supported and armed Russian separatists. We know because they shot down a commercial aircraft and spent an inordinate time denying it. Guess Johnstone would argue if they did they were provoked.
If Finland chooses to join NATO will that be sufficient provocation for Russia to attack America may not have a proud post WW2 history but then neither does Russia which regime would Johnstone prefer to live and operate under?
In the mass media you’re not allowed to talk about the U.S.-NATO actions that diplomats, politicians, academics — even the head of the C.I.A. — have long warned would lead to war in Ukraine.
Caitlin Johnstone: Unprovoked!
