Today’s Sydney Morning Herald and The Age front page stories on Australia’s supposed war risk with China represents the most egregious and provocative news presentation of any newspaper I have witnessed in over fifty years of active public life.

The thinness of the narrative is built around five supposed ‘experts’, three of whom are regular anti-China commentators – each firmly and long identified with the strategic interests of the United States.

Their views form the basis of this exclusive ‘Red Alert’.

Costello's Media and Attention Grabbing Trickery

This is "not News" This is "not Information", This is not backed by any data. This is propaganda. China will spend less of an increase % wise on defense in 2023 than it did in 2022 and less % wise of their GNP than Australia will. America spends almost x4 times more than China and more than all other top 10 defense spending nations do combined. This is the stuff of the once Orsen Welle's War of the Worlds radio broadcast. An opportunity to boost The Age's failing ratings and China Baiting gone wild. Yes, a war before the next election within 3 years is the expert prediction.

 This is not even statistical or historic modelling "5 experts". It's 5 people paid and some once paid now retired to fantasize their worst-case nightmares. Here they are sitting eagerly trumpeting their darkest nightmares as our possible reality within 3 years why? Because doing so Peter Costello is trying to boost his corporate bottom line by attracting advertisers, favors and promises from ou wealthiest and most conservative interests, Ratings count!

 However, wasn't it this type of thinking  that had the LNP take us to Vietnam.  To "Stop the Commie Dominoes" in the Pacific? " All the way with LBJ" was Harold Holt's catch cry and it has been pulled out by the LNP propaganda hat once again because that's all they have to offer. Chicken Little China Baiting which previously we saw Murdoch's Sky News  being the loudest voice. It's what the ALP a responsible government, and Albanese and Penny Wong aren't taking part in.

 Murdoch Media Tactics and Attention Grabbing Trickery

Carlson aired clips of the Capitol riots provided to him by Speaker McCarthy, resulting in outrage from some members of McCarthy’s own party.

• Republican senators have criticized Tucker Carlson for how he used exclusive video footage of the January 6 Capitol riot given to them by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
• Carlson shared on his Fox News show portions from the videos that he said depicted rioters as mostly peaceful “sightseers.”
• Almost 1,000 people have been charged for their participation in the riot, including 326 charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding police officers or Capitol employees.
• Former President Donald Trump praised Carlson’s segment on the footage.

The LNP went down without so much as a whimper on May 21 2022. It was a defeat one could blame on many factors; race, misogyny and right-wing MPs of the Liberal and National parties. And those same people are still around today. You know who I mean – yesterday’s men who still believe it’s their right to rule.

The Liberal’s defeat could also be blamed on factors such as a lack of policies, flawed leadership, consistent failures while in power, and poor economic management. However, the main reason was that the public had finally caught up with the Americanisation of our politics. Its leader Scott Morrison played a lone hand in a presidential-style campaign.
