As far as his audience is concerned he's a Judas ram leading who leads his followers throught a ritual of repitition of habitual of thought. If you don't' cut spending you must pay' is the a mantra a one way street. Revenue collection isn't something that needs to effect all of us given that 60% of us don't earn enough to even pay tax as a consequence the ATO needs little or no staff to supervise this level of society. However tax collection at the higher end has been soft not punitive & has always been by negotian, of compromise. It's more about how much are you willing to pay rather than this is what you owe us. The Glen Wheatleys of this world are just sacrificial lambs.
When the ATO staff the experts at auditing this top end of the tax scale have been made redundant and negotiated tax collection is made even easier are we supposed to expect that revenue will increase or become even more difficult.
