Vatican enemies are circling Pell

CARDINAL George Pell is in danger. He will not just walk into a security nightmare at the Rome hotel where he will give evidence. He will also know that powerful enemies in the Catholic Church want him to fall, so they can force him out before........
Am in Rome for Cardinal George Pell’s (third) grilling by the royal commission into child sex abuse by institutions.
I will be on 2GB, 3AW and 4BC at 8pm tonight with Steve Price to discuss Pell’s first day in the box, in a room with a hostile crowd

This is when the Media actually becomes the theater of the absurd. Andrew Bolt and his editorial associates actually believe that this piece of performance news provides us with something akin to being closer to truth. It's a bit like Tim Blair in a  Sydney pub documenting Muslim life. Bolt might just as well be at the bottom of his garden in the back shed with his tulips, phone and PC as being in Rome sitting ringside on George Pell's lap. The truth will not be better served if he was on the john.
Bolt  is just another Murdochian Don Quixotes   defending  the Catholic Church and in their mind  Geoge Pell  it's most important member. Forget Pope Francis he's  just  a heretic another Climate Warmist, a Latin revolutionary, defender of the poor and the illegal immigrant invaders of Europe and the USA.  Pell  on the other hand a more a man of order an Abbott like figure a defender of Institutions, a true conservative and more important than any one sinner or sinned against victim of the Christian orthodoxy. On any one day Pell is  symbolically  part of the Monkey Pod Room  in spirit with Abbott, Dutton, Andrews, Nikolic, Sukkar and a half dozen others the true leaders of the corrupted LNP.
Yes Bolt is performing on world stage in Murdoch's anglosphere theatre of madness denying that any separation exists between the state and church in Australia and nor should it as we are after all a Christian country.
UPDATE

Saints and Sinners
"Cardinal Pell has blamed individual failures rather than the Catholic Church system for the inaction on the clergy sexual abuse which went on for decades." Pell
Yet the systems mistakes it appears protected the sinners

"The church has made enormous mistakes and is working to remedy those, but the church ... has mucked things up, has let people down." Pell
Yet he inststs
"He said the Catholic Church in Australia was responding to the abuse which he said was not due to systemic causes." The Age
"I think the faults overwhelmingly have been personal faults, personal failures rather than structures." Pell
"He said the Catholic Church in Australia was responding to the abuse which he said was not due to systemic causes." Pell
With no real avenues in place to assess complaints but banks of lawyers and procedures in place to protect the Church how else can can the issues be interpreted as nothing other than a culture and structure  of protection?
"The instinct was to protect the community of the church from shame. I'm not sure at that stage there was too much concern about protecting assets." Pell

Strange that these defensive arguments were put up by the financial sector as well when Banks were proved to have a severe conflict of interest when advising clients to purchase investment stocks that were considered to fail. Rogue advisers weren't just protected but encouraged and recruited. Nobody has been comprehensively charged for these crimes either. The banks were allowed to negotiate settlements. With Corman  declaring the episodes history and we should all move on disregarding the suicides , early deaths, marriage break downs and psychological damage caused. One may well ask whether the Church was irresponsible in it's recruitment policies throughout history. It's power used to have Police investigations dropped victims threatened and other measures used to bury embarrassment. Pell certainly isn't saying saying much about the institutional aspects rather sticking to the personal but then he was responding to the Commissions questions. Obviously it seems minutes weren't kept and where they were not everything was documented. Cardinal George Pell gives evidence in Rome to the royal commission into child sexual abuse | HeraldSun
