Fran Kelly and me: balance on the ABC

Fran Kelly had me on her show this morning to talk about the show I made for ABC TV. She noted to her audience that this was something very rare and some of listeners later said it should have been even rarer. Listen here to what them so upset.

It's understandable why Andrew Bolt is so disliked the soft talking Golum simply started by insulting the ABC. He didn't want to be there he was obliged to be there for the sake of his audience who weren't listening anyway the man is a Golum why the ABC were reluctantly forced to have him on. He was an ego that came to life when he certainly didn't on Recognition yes or no. He spent the sho w like an obedient school boy when Conservative ex NZ PM James Bolger called him out for his lack of interest in and the denial of history. Fran Kelly raised the same point and was simply told "I don't think that" When dressed down  by the Constitutional Lawyer about being Indigenous Bolt faded away to a squeak "well that's what I believe". 

  "I don't think  the constitution as it stands ever harmed the Aborigines" History is wrong he told Kelly. Governments must be trusted but if the Constitution is changed I then won't trust them" Yes the Constitution is racist now but I trust my Australians but I don't trust Aborigines so it shouldn't be changed?  That's just how I'am Kelly live with it we are philosophical opposites. 

It's one thing to be philosophically opposites  it's another wanting to close you opponent down. Bolt's not an individual.  He came from a  migrant working class family with an aspirant mother. He's internalized the ideas and values of the elite for whatever reasons lives in a world of fanciful class consciousness. Antiques, art opera are his leisure he doesn't live a working class life style and I'm sure he doesn't think of himself as such. If he does see reality and a class society he's in denial and if he doesn't he has little capacity for thought or analysis. However he does have great ability in playing the  organ grinders monkey. He's been with NewsCorp most of his working life and has nowhere else to go.


 Abuse of Tax

Andrew Bolt works for News Corp he's a tax deduction of 30% loss to the company. News Corp print is a failing section of the company as was The Bolt Report on 10 donated free. Why does Murdoch persist using Bolt  a loss which if considered is a 30% subsidy. Can the country  afford the loss of intentional revenue?  When it's largely an undeclared donation to the extreme right of the Liberal Party?
 Bolt spends so much time accusing other media of hiding this sort of truth. He bangs on about how the ABC  hides the facts such as APEX gang says Bolt is black African. What's ironic is the Herald Sun today ran three full pages on them and  did exactly what Bolt accuses others of not doing calling the perps black.  All this to promote  One Nation's, Bolt's and the extreme right's anti- immigration agendas. Couple that with the fact that what Bolt  does is considered an undeclared donation to the Liberal party and you have as much a subsidized but openly biased media more so than the ABC and SBS.  ABC and SBS produce Australian content to a degree News Corp doesn't or doesn't even want to do.  Without our public broadcasters we wouldn't have as many Australian stories wouldn't have programs like Recognition , Drama and comedy we would be more  foreign.  Australian stories  would go untold and employment reduced.

The level of public trust SBS has compared with Bolt is unquestionable It's clearly seen why when Bolt having done Recognition  he began telling us just how good it was going to be and just how much he was going to be it's star .That he would turn this nation around against it. Having witnessed just how bad he actually was he's now turned like un-refrigerated milk and proved to us all why he simply can't be trusted. That's a good enough reason why we need SBS.

Because Christian Porter works for Turnbull he's no longer in favor with Bolt who believes the way to solve the problem of 750,000 unemployed and only 150,000 jobs is not jobs growth but simply kick 500,000 off Welfare. That of course will drive the cost of labour down and raise business profits. Christian Porter wouldn't tell me is Bolt's media stick to say  Tony would have got the questions first so he would have. Bolt is for us copycatting NZ as long as we wave a big enough stick. Bolt's more interested in the stick the punishment more than he is the outcome. He wasn't quite so outspoken when he was in NZ talking recognition. Unfortunately both he and Lynda Burney showed their ignorance as Australians as to just how Treaty worked in NZ. Ignorance was expected of Bolt maybe Lynda was just listening. Jim Bolger a conservative was really astounded by Bolt's faux fear.

Why is this potty mouth a professor?

 

The obsession the over conservatives like Bolt have with manners is they are shit scared that the oppressed might just get angry. It's why Slavers demanded what on any other day was called obedience. If the elite want anything done they could hire someone to do the heavy work themselves. Generally money talks and the poor walk. Bolt is applying much the same code. Lecturers it seems need to be judged by their manners and not by their knowledge. It's why Bolt is so obsessed with manners because most of what he says isn't based on any knowledge.  It's why he was laughed at by Indian, Fijian Australian Constitutional Lawyer who put him back in his box.

Why is Andrew Bolt so anal because he can only operate in an environment of manners which generally operate from the top down. It's why he's a professional moderator prefers debates and doesn't really perform in an intellectual free for all emphasis being on free. His belief in free speech built on myth. The myth that ideas are the realm of the individual and not of class or groups. Children internalize beliefs and ideas through socialization and some cases reflect class differences the concept free speech denies the reality of these differences and the differential in  power that exists both materially and culturally. Section 18C of the RDA doesn't and as such enhances the possibility of  freer speech. After all isn't manners what Bolt's obsessed with? He's seems so upset about a potty mouthed professor he's calling for his sacking. Seems Cultural policing is what Bolt's free speech is really about. He did the same for the 2015 Festival of Dangerous ideas, Martin Hirst , the young Colvin and heaven knows how many others using News Corp as his power base.

Yes Andrew Bolt knows what science is about the predictions made at the turn of the Century have been proven wrong so scientific method doesn't work. All you can rely on is what's occuring today and what's happening in Bolt's backyard. His predictions remind me of Arthur Rylah's daughter. Rylah made decisions on the basis of his daughter for the State .  Andrew Bolt declares Global Science is dead because a Scientist's prediction made in 2007 9 years ago doesn't seem to have happened. Did Flannery predict drought in 2016 I can't recall he did. What given Bolt's track record for lying did Flannery predict and for when? Furthermore what has any of this to do with global science? Yes the earth warms it gets more humid which increases the likelihood of more rain on the planet. That seems reasonable more reasonable than saying my fishpond is overflowing therefore global science is a load of crock. All this is coming from the man who told Aborigines that their kids needed to do maths and science but for our kids that sort of logic shouldn't be compulsory. Because for his kids he knows it's who you know and not what you know that really counts.

 

A call to Jews: free speech must save you

  Bolt is a very sick man the assimilationist doctrine he preaches is the death of tribalism and it's  the only way Jews can survive. He says this even though they have done so for 3000 years by not reducing themselves to being just individuals. Their survival with 12 tribes black white semitic, Ashkanasi and Sephardic has allowed them to survive because of their recognition of the history. A common history which is internalized in their cultural practice whether frum or not and are not just  words in a book. 

Bolt wants Australian Jews to recognize they are as indigenous as he is? The man is a nobody by definition an individual maybe but one without meaning. Jews don't even have to support Israel which  is in the process of formulating a tribal state in which non Jews are second class citizens.  Israel will not end the Diaspora. Bolt's a fool his logic is foolish and it's the very opposite of what it means to be a Jew and he's trying to achieve what Hitler did with words eradicate the tribal nature  of Jews how? By having them accept the freedom of hate speech. 

If  a Jew believes Bolt is a friend they may as well believe the spin the Dutch put out  post WW2 that they were a friend of the tribe when in fact Jewish research proved the Dutch killed more Dutch Jews than Germany did German. Without their internalized history Jewishness would be just a quaint curiosity and that's what Bolt wants of all of us. Assimilation is somehow like believing if you produce mass produced bread each slice will rise and shine and that the diversity of different breads spoils the very basic notion of what bread is. Where in fact the diversity of immigrant Australia magnifies and emphasises our individuality and doesn't shackle it. As a Jew would say Andrew Bolt is a  huge Schmuck  a Putz.

Andrew Bolt would like to reduce  the intake of refugees and the money to help those in camps but has no qualms on increasing the bombing in the Middle East and creating more refugees.  He's like the cruel kid with an ant farm for a toy.  He's thrown in a picture of Abbott singing My way to the conservatives in the EU but unable to tell them how to do it. That's about as useful as As useful as a one armed trapeze artist with an itchy arse
