Rupert Murdoch gave birth to the likes of Andrew Bolt; However even the Eagles didn't aniticipate how bad it would get

News back in the 80s still had some respect for journalism and verification of facts. It wasn't just cheap opinion and commentary based on cheaply produced paid influence. Yes Rupert Murdoch realized he could take that to the world and it was money in the bank. Should we be proud that Australia was his mini lab?  We gave him the opportunity to experiment and realize he had traction. A different kind aspired to by the Packers not just sport, fashion, and entertainment. These became his cash flow that sponsored his corporate political alliances, globalization and his attachment to conservative ideologies the likes of IPA here and all the other conservative organizations in the Anglosphere. The Eagles didn't see just how powerful he'd get making Trump President.

I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry
Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I dont have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em all around
We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
Its interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
You dont really need to find out whats going on
You dont really want to know just how far its gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre stiff
Kick em all around
Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybodys pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When its said and done we havent told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!
"Endless bouts of introspection and navel gazing are unhealthy," John Howard declared 21 years ago. "Mostly they arise out of attempts to rewrite our past or reposition our history by people with axes to grind who aren't all that interested in the truth."
Andrew Bolt keeps telling us we need to assimilate and take on Austalian values but he never clarifies what it is he means as we are a diverse nation and he clearly has no empathy for an Australian perspective other than his his own extremely narrow one. He's constantly said he never felt Australian until after his marriage and heading to 40 something. Yet he expects it of others immediately foregoing the fact he is a child of migrant parents who it's doubtful ever regarded themselves as 'new Australians' but always as Dutch Australians at best. Bolt speaks Dutch but he never learnt that at school. One thing is for certain he doesn't agree with John Howard's idea
" Howard summed up many of the qualities that make up the nation's image of itself in that speech of 1995: the embrace of "practical mateship"; the egalitarian ethos; the shunning of pretension and pomposity; a fierce and irreverent scepticism; and a level of tolerance and warm-heartedness "for which we have given ourselves too little credit".
Andrew Bolt in fact defines himself the reverse of all these qualities he's not social, distinguishes himself from deplorables, is pretentious and is a fierce adherent of tradition which stands back if fierce scepticism comes his way. That leaves him with very little tolerance and warm heartedness for those he feels are different. It's what he excuses as shyness which it isn't it's bigotry of a very distinct class nature capital he wasn't born with and only acquired after marriage. Basically he shows all the signs of being new to his class uncertain he belongs and is at heart and always has been a snob from a very young age. He's in fact the very opposite of John Howard's Australian. However he does and always has lived his life in Gordan's  "delusionary mental bubble of self-interest". A world he believes has provided him with cultural capital and somehow a higher intellect. In truth he's just a twat.
