If you don’t get a Walkley award you can always get a News gong was the thinking behind setting up the awards, although News seems to be moving towards making the night a marketing exercise. On Friday the Daily Telegraph grouped announcement of its Walkley and News awards nominations as “the country’s two most prestigious [journalism] awards”. It’s not a huge surprise that it has more nominations in the latter. Still, newspaper noses are out of joint after the Foxtel TV offerings were given several nominations, leaving fewer this year for the Australian. In business reporting, for example, there were two nominations for Sky News and one for the Australian. The top gong is the Sir Keith Murdoch award for excellence in journalism, which will be handed out ton 27 October not by Rupert himself but by his global chief executive, Robert Thomson.

But the award that caught our eye was a new one, for achievements in opinion, commentary and provocation. An award for provocation? Look no further than Andrew Bolt, who is provocative around the clock on multiple outlets including columns in the Herald Sun, his popular blog, the radio and The Bolt Report on Sky News. The three nominees for the inaugural award are of course, Andrew Bolt, Paul Murray from Sky News and a third nominee who richly deserves a nod – Jill Poulsen from the NT News for her strong front page about marriage equality headlined “Do It Now”.

STORRIER WINS PRIZE, TELLS POST-MODERNIST ARCHIBALD JUDGES WHERE TO GO

I was shocked that the Archibald Prize didn't shortlist this picture: "Tim Storrier was awarded the $150,000 Moran prize yesterday with a portrait of his friend, fellow artist McLean Edwards... The Moran [is] the nation’s richest art prize." Now he's won, here's Storrier on the Archibald's political correctness. UPDATE: My Fellini night.

 What a show pony Andrew Bolt tries to be.He is the very opposite of what he's claiming to be a Modernist. However this post has nothing to do with anything really other than self-boosting with a used car salesman in Berlin at Xmas.

 He gives us two commentaries by Storrier on the Archibald which one must be reminded he was a judge for ten years. Storrier tells us the Archibald is a an art prize very much bounded by politics which the art world is declaring an egg is an egg what more can be said. The art world is fully aware of this fact and always has been he's said nothing. The Archibald is NSW centric and has always been, so ask the art world. Storrier won in 2012 and didn't in 2017 and his complaint is sour grapes. The shift from modernist to postmodernist is sour grapes and could be regarded a less than objective complaint.

The Moran Prize, on the other hand, is an Acquisitive Prize that by its very nature makes it traditionalist and the News Corp branding of it as "the Archibald Reject" media political. When your buying a painting the criteria is significantly different. Storrier just happens to be a commrecially successful commodity in the secondary art market.

I wondered why Bolt threw in the third article and you have to laugh it's his egocentricity that on his Christmas holiday he rushed to Berlin to hobnob and be noticed at the CFA. This whole post had nothing to do with art but all to do with pushing Bolt's elitist self-image. He had a great time recognized alongside the used car salesman running the show. 

 

IS CRIKEY BOSS ERIC BEECHER AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST HYPOCRITE?

 Bolt needs to self examine himself Crikey isn't selling itself as a serious " national news paper" The Australian is and it's not delivering the product it purports to sell and is getting progressively worse

Falsely described by Tony Abbott in 2014 "as “one of the world’s very best newspapers" to Murdoch's. He's the world's best leader when the world was laughing.

  So where do we rate Bolt when it comes to hypocrisy. He claims he won't attend or recieve awards at any cost. News Corp for purposes has created it's own in-house ceremonies and you guessed it they have created a category just for Andrew Bolt. Guess he wont put on the black tie to recieve it and then promote recieving the award. Eric Beecher isn't so ridiculous or shamefaced.

 Lets start with the premise that this is a long post which generally leads to obsfucation by Bolt an the amplification of "I don't know what it is I'm talking about by Bolt?" Firstly he's quoting the IPA and they certainly have only one thing on their minds and that's an agenda.
biased history teaching" The question if one reads Bolt's post which is as boring as batshit and leads nowhere what is his point? Is he trying to tell us that Australian History is in the main based on myth and not "cannon", No! That it's more probable 66% of the history taught has been false. Aren't we just now beginning to learn that the Queen had more in the involvement of the sacking of Whitlam than we have been lead to believe?So why the surprise taht the fundamental attitude to the foundation of Australia was based on a racist mind set that suited and justified the economic exploitation of peoples globally by the the British East India Company which in turn became the British Empire and all it's colonies of which Australia was just one. 

Racism was but one justification for invasion,impoverishment theft of land and peoples for profit in all it's colonies and done in the most harshest ways. It enabled a system of  relationships to be clearly defined as opposed to just prejudices which Bolt prefers to refer to. Slavery, people treated as property just one enabled 4.5 mill Africans to be taken and traded for profit. It enabled endentured labour of 0.5 mill Indians to be dragged as cheap labor to the British Colonies along with Black birding. It justified the transportation of English prisons to be emptied of the Irish and the unwanted poor to be transported to the colonies to ensure huge profits for British investors in the UK. It demanwhatthe shipment of women to ensure the colonial future. Call it waht you want but this was a rationalised system and it  was a mixture of the harshest form of class and race and feminist based exploitation of a global kind. White Male British elite were the best practiced at it and it's defining moment of resistense could be said to have been the American Revolution of Independance. Any history depicting this as a benign presance and an uplifting experience for all and that history called "cannon" is simply myth.

However Bolt not even interested in the slightest  what "cannon" actually means here and it's certainly true it's not a critical analysis of what is in fact taught as Western Civilisation or even British History. British history isn't even taught to the British who know little or nothing about their racist past only a British Nationalist version of it which has been taught to the ensuing generations since. That's "cannon". Bolt strives to maintain the falsities taught in the name of White Racisist Nationalism and the Stolen Generation and it's denial being just one it's protecting itself against. History being discovered now of the systemic denial of sexual child abuse in the not just the Catholic Church but across many other institutions indicates cracks are showing in this "canon" and very serious onesat that. Bolt chooses to hide them by mockery which simply goes to show what I said at the beginning he's truly afraid and anti-history.

As for racism Bolt invented it 58 years ago when he  declared he was indigenous and persecuted .

 

 

EUTHANASIA DEBATE: HENNESSY'S "C..." WORD, AND CALLING A POISON A "MEDICINE"

Bolt argues Compassion is "inequality" and " restriction of individual choice" He sounds very much like a colonial missionary to me the beat children for their own good and removed them in order to save their souls.  When the complained he asked why do you hate me so much? "

TURNBULL'S ELECTRICITY PLAN JUST DIED

The Government's electricity plan is stuffed if this is where the debate's got to: "The Prime Minister yesterday rejected Labor claims that his National Energy Guarantee resurrected a carbon tax by stealth." So the plan is: 1. Incomprehensible. 2: Too close to Labor's. 3. Still a global warming scheme. 4. Unlikely to cut prices. So a political dud.

Strange the Cabinet endorsed Turnbull's Plan and told Abbott to shove it he was there Mr. Bolt and had his say was accommodated but didn't have what is that word "the Numbers". So who is now running the rumor mill MPs aren't happy, MPs are against what they voted for in Cabinet? Name and numbers would help belief. Oh, it's Henery Ergas that we turn to the News Corp expert. Abbott hates losing doesn't he h'e just full of it,hate. A delegator however to run his fights for him.

HOW GREENS TREAT FREE SPEECH

A journalist suing a commentator for defamation, rather than meet argument with argument? This is off: "Osman Faruqi ..., a former Greens candidate who is Junkee’s news and political editor, is suing Latham for defamation over comments [criticising] Faruqi over a tweet in which he appeared to celebrate the downfall of white Australian politicians."

Bolt and Latham alike just love flipping the coin, don't they.Bolt seems to be a total contradiction, doesn't he? Take a look at his post above and his support of Modernism in art over Postmodernism. He prefers supposedly the objectivity of science history and not the what he's applauding here and that's flipping debate without an anchor debate detached from real debate that suggests Western White Male Christian Nationalists dominate and are under attack by racists the likes of Faruqi and Yassmin. Cloud cuckoo land versus social reality its construction and it controls in yes his marketplace.  It certainly has the tone of the case against Bolt does it also have the lack of truth that Bolt was found guilty of. Calling out unfair doesn't cut it when it's the call of the bullies.
