In fact, we have reached 25 million today - not in 2050 but 32 years earlier. Our immigration program is out of control.

Politicizing crowding as an immigration problem Bolt also avoids mentioning that government failure on infrastructure became excessive with Abbott and a government that relied on doing nothing. They encouraged the import of temporary skilled labour and the export of education which has become our third largest export, afterall that's business. Tourism was allowed to grow as well so of coursewe felt more crowded.
So if one considers Ruddock's prediction it was one not taking into account the numbers of temporary immigrants which have come in for Australia's positive economic gain. Remove these arrivals and Australia's population would still be languishing below 24 mill with infrastructure still at a standstill and no benefits gained over the past almost 2 decades. Only the sound of Abbott's voice saying "Nope".
Bolt's actually insisting on closing down the $8 bill dollar education export sector and bringing all other industries to a standstill that require skilled labour.
He's dressed his overtly racist arguments into factless opinion whose consequences would result in a recession greater than the GFC but this time round unable to escapethat bullet as we did with Gillard and Swan.

Twenty-two years later, on 2 August 2018, the country’s most influential columnist, Andrew Bolt, regularly published in four Murdoch tabloids, claimed that Australia was being destroyed by waves of immigrants – Chinese, Jews, Vietnamese, Indians, Muslims etc – who refused to assimilate and who, as colonists, treated Australia not as a home but as a hotel. Conservatives in this country have made it impossible to have a sensible discussion about anything.
Population is a topic we should be discussing. Infrastructure planning depends on it. Allocation of finite resources depends on it. Town and environmental planning depend on it. Education and training depend on it. Health services depend on it.
Immigration must be part of this discussion.
The statistics show that immigration is good for the economy but it is reasonable to question the effect it is having on employment, housing affordability and urban congestion.
It is also necessary to consider what can be done to assist people to become active and productive participants in the community and to recognise impediments to social cohesion.
Andrew Bolt is one such impediment.
In true Hansonesque style, Bolt has written a column headlined “The foreign invasion”.

Let’s be clear. Bolt’s language about Jews is redolent of the past. In response to the article, the President of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria, Jennifer Huppert, said that there was ‘a rise in ultra-right-wing activity in Victoria and this type of activity can fuel antisemitic, anti-Islam and general racist debate and language in our community.’
The Australian Jewish Democratic society expressed their anger and then stated:
In response we say to Andrew Bolt and white supremacists everywhere: we are not interested in assimilating to White Australia. We are not interested in being subjects of your racist attacks. We – as migrants, as people who have lived in this country for a long time, as people who have faced racism and antisemitism of so many different guises over such a long period of time – are here to tell you that we will win and you will lose. Your vision for how society should operate will never succeed. We will continue to work with other others to ensure that a strong, cohesive, anti-racist, justice-based society is the future for "us" all.
Bolt also attacked the descendants of 1950s immigrants. He wrote that in Five Dock, Sydney,
‘ … one in seven residents still speak Italian at home.’
Clearly, Andrew Bolt’s othering is all-embracing — from white Jews and those speaking a foreign language to Muslims of any colour and brown and black people.

We don't need to do anything all's well. I dare him to go to the drought areas and tell those farmers they don't need help because what they are witnessing is the same as they have been witnessing for the past 50 years.
I dare Bolt to tell 20,000 farmers they are little more than welfare bludgers who have mismanaged their farms, farmers who have been there for up to 4 generations Bolt calling incompetent because climate hasn't changed.
Any person living in Melbourne for the past 50 years has felt and witnessed Climate Change occurring and hasn't had to rely on the predictions of science to convince them.
Here is Bolt yet again pushing shit up a hill with a pointed stick, hands deep in his pockets and not going to help any of those rural bludgers out.
If one actually focuses on the graphs Bolt has offered as his statistical proof it would appear that the last good rain NSW had was in 2010. According Bolt Australia is drowning it seems but if he took the time to listen not in rain. If he took the time to consider the global effects of warming they are becoming increasingly obvious to everyone experientially and not any longer theoretically only. Too many records have been broken.
