LIBERALS MUST LOSE IF THEY WON'T FIGHT

The Liberals are freaking over their smashing in Victoria. Some want to give in on global warming, for instance. But when will they learn that they cannot win argument that they don't even dare put. My editorial from The Bolt Report.

 Bolt fails to acknowledge the damage that Sky News, the echo chamber for the Neocons, has done to the Liberal Party with their argument that Climate Science is crap. Bolt certainly has never shown any solid data based arguments that have convinced Liberal voters. In fact, currently 45% actually believe the reverse and with each passing day, that number is growing. His denial currently has some 30% support among only the most extreme conservatives. So with his back to the wall how does he expect to reverse a flow that saw Victorian seats like Malvern and Brighton drop 10% in the swing against them. These are seats with highly educated voters with educations far in advance of Andrew Bolt's fake one from Adelaide. These once die-hard Liberals have turned because they clearly regard Bolt's mantra of denial totally irresponsible. Particularly his argument that Climate Science is a faith-based religion with no more foundation than any other. Bolt ignores disciplined scientific method and it's constant ongoing scepticism with its 97% consensus among climate experts based on some 15,000 accumulated and ongoing peer-reviewed research philosophically as simply just another religion. It's as if that's all that science has done in the past 200 years formed a church.
Bolt does the same when he says he's indigenous change the framework move the goal posts and you have destroyed any opponents evidenced-based reasoning by taking it to cloud cuckoo land and that's what Andrew Bolt and the neocons regard as reasoned. Is it any wonder Liberals in droves are voting Labour? Abbott recently saw a swing of 30% against him in his own branch, Longman, Wentworth were a message while James Molan has just been dropped to 3rd on the Senate ticket. It won't be long before News Corp's management will retire Bolt as advertisers abandon ship because his kind of commentary will be totally dysfunctional to their business model. When Labour is in power nationally for 8 years who will bother about Bolt a relic?

 

O'DWYER COMPLAINS OF THE DAMAGE SHE'S DONE

Cabinet minister Kelly O’Dwyer accuses: "O'Dwyer told colleagues the Liberals are widely regarded as 'homophobic, anti-women, climate-change deniers'.” Now, who'd have made voters think Liberals were anti-women? From September: "O'Dwyer told the ABC the bullying was a longer term problem, and also pointed to 'elements in the party organisation'."

Is that all Bolt can say to women? It's the same false challenge he runs against the Stolen Generation. Accept Colonial history and accept patriarchy and misogyny and prove I'm wrong. The Stolen Generation was Christian Welfare and Politics is rough by nature that's the norm. Yes, conservative Liberals have defiantly said politics is a male arena and women don't have the nature for it, that women aren't up to the rough and tumble of politics and as a consequence can't achieve the numbers in the Liberal Party on corporate boards or elsewhere. When Tony Abbott says women would be better off in the kitchen and behind an ironing board rather than in Politics how much damage has he done? How much ignorance has he shown? None according to Andrew Bolt he's Teflon coated in his eyes. 
 Conservatives seem to believe there is only one way to approach politics and that's in constant opposition to anything outside their value system and strategies and tactics are formulated not by those values or principles but to win at all costs even if it means contradicting themselves. Pragmatism compromise has no place among today's crop of ultra-conservatives. Menzies Howard all referred to the Liberal Party as a broad church to accommodate all debate and arrive at a consensus and do much the same in parliament. The goal is to progress via a consensus for the service of the nation. The conservatives have turned that on its head and have since 2009 had the tail wagging the dog and demanded that the narrowest of single-minded views be enforced on its members so much so the party is in turmoil and the country is simply serviced without any service offered and the electorate is sick of it. 
 Blinkered Bolt believes if the party adopts the Abbott line of 2013 it will regain voters. By insisting to fight on like the Monty Python Black Knight they will regain leadership lost. How is that when Jim Molan's career has been demolished not by the electorate but his own Liberal Party Branch that Bolt still insists the tail wag the dog rather than get back in its right place the arse end of the dog if it's not going to be put down for a case of rabies.  


 

The Defamation Case Between Mark Latham And An ABC Employee Has Settled

The high profile defamation case, which saw a Federal Court defence strikeout judgement go viral, has settled out of court.

Andrew Bolt calls him "mate" but did he donate to Latham's crowd-funded defence? They are after all two of a kind simply because Latham has capitulated and deserted the Labour movement for cash.

JULIA BANKS QUITS LIBS, PARTY SPLITTING

Julia Banks, a Turnbull supporter, has quit the Liberals to sit as an independent, leaving the Liberals with just 74 of the 150 votes. She blasts the "reactionary right" she claims has taken over the Liberals. The party is heading for a split, with the Left's Julie Bishop in revolt, and conservatives like Jim Molan and Craig Kelly being forced out.

Is it any surprise when colleagues slut-shame you and those that do are actually Party parasites? She's a politician after all and if she wants to retain her seat and represent her electorate she knows it's better as an independent than as a Liberal. The Party isn't splitting in as much as it has to rid itself of the parasitic dead weight that's simply hung on out of self-interest rather than teamwork again showing they have the country's interests at heart and not just their own. That's not splitting.
It's time Murdoch's advertisers did the same and showed the electorate that they too are with them and not just with a right-wing minority that is as alien to Australia as the first fleet once was. We need to remind ourselves what this country really looks like and that's the Multicultural Multiracial and Multireligious room Dan Andrews addressed when he won the election. Significantly different from the one Matthew Guy addressed.
 Good on Julia Banks she's showing her true Australian value spirit and the mettle it requires to do it. Bolt the jellyfish should nominate to run against her but he won't he hates to be proven wrong, never admits it and besides is a dual passport holder and would never forego his Dutch citizenship to put his money where his mouth is. He's definitely less true blue than many Africans, Chinese Indians Indigenous Muslims Gays and women he mocks and disparages for not being good enough.
What's more to the point the ALP has nearly 50% more votes in total than the Liberals. How out of touch can Andrew Bolt be and be a paid commentator??
