In reality, speech-driven by power rather than logic needs to be called out for what it is as should the speech of the disempowered. Unless there is equality, speech isn't free.
The reason Bolt had Flynn on his show is he makes out he's an idealist and crusader of free speech when he's the very opposite. Speech is freer, louder and holds a significantly different use for Andrew Bolt because of News Corp. When he lead the attack on Adam Goodes and didn't pass him, the mike didn't listen to anything he had to say while lying about what he did and meant Bolt got slammed despite his privilege. Bolt claiming he's more indigenous than Adam Goodes showed he was louder, but again, in that case, he couldn't mask his stupidity, and he wasn't being paid to sustain it like he is Climate Denial which is just as stupid. For over a decade he told listeners the planet was cooling. You can say what you want, but the reality might just say otherwise, and the Bolt Report isn't a "free speech" zone by any means.
It's great to see CNN acting as a referee and not taking Trump money because it wasn't real speech.
As for Flynn's book in defense of free speech his publisher made a business decision and wasn't prepared to take a risk of losing money. No doubt they also consulted their lawyers and insurers in order to arrive at that decision. It seems to me Andrew Bolt fights for that right as his point of difference when he argues against bias in the ABC and for the difference in rights.

Andrew Bolt seems to be unable to distinguish the difference between ideology and culture. Western cultures are many and accept differing ideologies. China has a multitude of cultures as well, but one fundamental ideology and driving force "we" before "me". It's appreciated in the West by those that have adopted a belief in Democratic Socialism and differ from those that deny it's right to exist. The Netherlands is far more Socialist than Australia and even much more than Victoria and hoisted the Chinese flag today out of respect and appreciation.

He believes in one step one colour and one tune no shade of grey or pink for him. He's much more aligned to Hitler's and Mussolini's dream or what the generals once accomplished in Paraguay. Authoritarian dictatorships, States with a single ideology like China's. He'd deny it of course, but his lips still move to their single-cultural anthems and steps.
Western Culture is diverse and has a socialist bent as well, so it's no surprise we are prepared to recognise China's 70-year social engineering miracle. An achievement that physically improved the lives of 1.3 billion people and has shown us that systemic change is possible on such a large scale without a world war. It has lifted its citizens en-mass despite facing initial historically armed resistance. China isn't the only country to have shown revolutionary change is possible. Nepal is in the throes of doing much the same, having not got rid of the power of it's corrupt Royal dynasty and elite entirely but democratised by Maoists with whom they now need to engage. Scandanavian countries moved left years ago and are admired for the social outcomes they have achieved. There has been resistance to these moves and has generally been overcome domestically, not from any outside influences. Today since WW2 that has regularly been by America with its 800 military bases strategically placed to support their ideology, not their culture. Women in Tunisia have a greater right to their bodies than Americans abortion, and equal pay has been there since the 70s
Socialist beliefs are currently standing out in Trump's America, and their appeal is really gaining traction among the Millenials and is being held back by traditional conservatives among Republicans and Democrats alike who fear to lose their power. They are Trumpsters and the swamp within their parties. Diametrically opposite to the likes of Bernie Sanders, the ladies Trump vilifies as "the squad", and today those white otherwise moderates that call themselves the badasses simply because they want him impeached.
One Nation, One song, One system is institutional secularism one that allows for differing ideologies and cultures but treats everyone as equal and is recognised by everyone but denied by the self-interest of otherwise wannabe fascists, nationalist and white supremacists. A state which Bolt would happily adopt here now. How unAustralian he is? But nevertheless, he's our dysfunctional prick. An unwanted fart in overcrowded elevator maybe, but unfortunately a bad smell in our lift. There aren't many of them, and they are free and welcome to leave, and we continually need to remind them where the door is in much stronger terms.
