Simone Marsh was an environment specialist and regulator of mining activities in both public and private sectors for over a decade. In 2010 she was called into draft sections of the Queensland Coordinator-General’s EIS evaluation report for the world’s first onshore unconventional gas to LNG projects. After becoming a whistleblower, she has investigated and reported on political appointments, donations, lobbying and other events surrounding the project approvals and the resultant socio-economic and environmental impacts.

 Revolving Doors - Michael West

The Americanisation of Australian political culture
I would suggest that the LNP has taken us closer to being the 51rst State of America than we have ever before. The impetus, however, feels more obvious to us with the support of Murdoch's globalisation of news and opinion in the Anglo-speaking world. While it hasn't come overnight it became a concerted effort with his establishment of Foxtel in the 80s and the increase of commentary over and above the costs involved in investigative journalism. Basically, Sky and Fox News are so formulaic one wonders why the necessity for Chris Kenny Rowan Dean Andrew Bolt et al they could all be equally replaced by a computer.
Any seeming push against globalisation I'd suggest isn't it is rather a push against International unionism and the globalisation class war which is currently revealing itself in so many places and now spilling out onto the streets. The LNP feels safer locked into a Murdochian spoon-fed world of news and information than it does with the ABC  (ODT)

FAKE AND TWISTED NEWS

SARAH HANSON-YOUNG PRAISES CHINA AS IT RAMPS UP COAL

News last week: "From January last year to June this year,... China increased its coal fleet by 42.9GW... equal to about eight times Australia’s total electricity capacity." Now watch the Greens' Sarah Hanson-Young keep fantasising: "You've got China closing coal-fired power stations at rates much faster than Australia is prepared to consider..."

China has a strong advantage that it is a global leader in solar and wind power, and last year it sold more electric cars than the rest of the world combined. China can become the world’s foremost clean energy superpower,” she said.

Andrew Bolt in order to rush and attack  Sarah Hanson Young is blinkered blind to the fact that China is also the worlds largest clean energy producer the world's largest exporter of product that facilitates renewable energy while Australia is the reverse the world largest exporter of coal. Second only to Saudi Arabia as the world's largest emitters of CO2 emissions per Capita. While building new plants China is closing older plants at a faster rate than we are... Bolt's banner is Twisted for the misogynist attack on Young.
