Leading scientists have demanded urgent action on the climate crisis as Prime Minister Scott Morrison defended his government’s policies.
“For decades, climate scientists have been warning Australian governments about the escalating threat of catastrophic bushfire conditions because of climate change,” Dr Beer said.
“I am horrified that what my study found has now occurred and the fact this means it is only going to get worse,” he said.

Science has shown with the increased rate of CO2 there has been a concomitant increase in the planet's temperature and that increase has had "indirect" consequences in the trends in global climate and weather extremes we've not seen in the past. Emphasis Mr Bolt on the term "trends" and "extremes" not all particular events.
