Thousands skip isolation as virus surge gains pace

Thousands of Victorians told to isolate to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are ignoring instructions and many are continuing to work because they cannot afford to miss a shift.

 Victoria was Australia's most successful economic hot spots where people came to work. The pandemic changed that and now as far as the stimulus of work is concerned it's Australia's cold spot of uncertainty.

Unless individuals are personally and universally financially protected under support schemes anxiety will win out and the need to take care of one's self and family will win out. Even fines won't be a deterrent. This government, however, makes it extremely difficult for individuals in financial need to comply. (ODT)

COLUMN I am sick of the politics being played with this virus. It destroys trust and leaves Australia battling a second wave. But again and again we see double standards and spin: not fining Black Lives Matter protesters, closing schools just to send a message, banning golf for no good reason and more.

Fact Victoria was the state of opportunity for the economic boom state.  The higher the rise the bigger the fall with the borders locked and Job Keeper supporting business good and bad individuals feel at risk particularly those supporting families. If there had been a universal benefits scheme supporting individuals the anxiety levels would be much lower particularly for families. Compliance to masks social distancing better self-managed. Medical advice is politics as far as Bolt is concerned and his commentary isn't it fatherly love from a man who hides behind a curtain a greater mask than any of us are asked to bear as a team. Bolt, however, does know what walking alone means and expects that the parks and gardens of Victoria are his alone. However, for "us" there is no alone only an acknowledged "we".  Apparently, the virus to Bolt is a hoax. A Trumpster nothing to worry about illness. Don't worry about the fact that it's still very much a mystery. If so shouldn't be a role model and show us his stripes. After all Derryn Hinch did and was prepared to be jailed for his beliefs.

Bolt bangs on about collectivist failure. However, Aged -Care is a privatised disaster. He doesn't explain who is meant to man theses facilities when more staff contract the illness than clients and others are just abandoning the facilities. Oh government should take control and draft the untrained unemployed or will Bolt put his hand up to help as he's certainly not an essential. He won't he hated PTA meetings and avoided them whenever he could and prefers not to be seen in public. Will he send his family to help instead? 
These are Bolt's preferred privatised industries have been at the bottom of the pile when it comes to industrial relations. They operate on the basis of providing the minimum service at the cheapest price and labour is the determinant of "cheapest" and now in this pandemic, they are reflecting that inadequacy. Private Security is another such industry. These are the conditions guaranteed by Bolt's anti- union penalty rate demands. Rather than the quality of service you get untrained casualised workers on the barest of wages being screwed and not just screwing. Bolt yesterday was demanding deregulation and the cheapest well he's got it.  However, the whinger is now he's complaining that these industries aren't regulated enough and the LNP could do it better what for less? Sorry they are the ones fighting regulation not calling for it. Oh it's all the politics that Dan Andrews currently isn't concerned with but O"Brien and News Corp are involved with yelling "we can do it better"!!
