As a 65-year-old I feel incredibly grateful to young Australians for being so compliant and considerate. They had the most to lose from lockdown given their demographic was the least at risk from health complications and their job security was the worst. I and my generation owe them for their sacrifice. Yes, there were a few maskless libertarians marching, flouting the rules and crying “my freedom” and “my independence”, but the shared sacrifice and courtesy for the elderly was an ethical triumph.

While the solidarity of sacrifice shown in a greater respect for "we" rather than just "me" can be said to be clear as crystal how Australians approached Covid-19 the same can't be said of the LNP in how the Morrison Government conducted itself in 2020. The rorts of government ministers coupled with it's self-serving advertising spend is indicative of just how Scotty from Marketing approached doing nothing in 2020. We need to never forget the wisdom shown of the Tourism Depts of two countries who sacked him for his secret and we must assume very inappropriate behaviours.
