Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has delivered a budget with a deficit of bold reforms.

Back to the future budget delivers jobs, but no pay rises

Delivering casual and underpaid work for corporation profits ensuring downward pressure on Australian's wages. It will back fire because there is a limit to what it means to survive. Particularly when this government doesn't dare import foreign labor as it has for farmers. They simply aren't saving anyone and even industries are  turning against them.

The Welfare State Isn’t About Charity

The current round of partisan shadowboxing around unemployment benefits misses the point: the purpose of a real welfare state is to free people from the drudgery, precarity, and misery of low-wage work.

Going viral: How a book on Amazon inspired the latest COVID conspiracy

The discredited theory that coronavirus is a bio-weapon created in a Wuhan lab is gaining new momentum. This is the conspiracy’s origin story.

“Our debate should be evidence-driven and not by pure falsehood,” he said. “The theory is ridiculous. It is like saying I can divine US military secrets by reading some random book from Amazon.”

Nevertheless, a discredited Amazon book has taken center stage at News Corp and it has breathed life yet again into a theory that claimed COVID's origins were from an American lab at Fauci's instigation, only to be twisted claiming it was from a Chinese one in Wu Han with his funding. It goes to show how Andrew Bolt is an obediant News Corp hack who draws his stories from the team, for effect, and not for knowledge gleaned from any real primary source, facts or data. Knowing full well his bullshit can't be fact checked in real time and by the time it is the bullshit has been let loose to spread faster than COVID through the infosphere helping to destroy Australia's global image, economy, and encourage the sounds of right-wing war drums.

There’s Nothing Complicated About What’s Happening in Palestine

We should be absolutely clear about what’s going on in Jerusalem: one of the most militarized nations in the world, Israel, is carrying out its brutal occupation using racist violence and ethnic cleansing.

Zali Steggall brings 'bizarre medieval superstitions' to politics: Latham

NSW One Nation Leader Mark Latham says Zali Steggall's "medieval superstition" of leaves falling from a tree in parliament house meaning the "end of civilization" through climate change is bizarre. "For Zali Steggall and others it's really just sort of showing that climate change is becoming the equivalent of a medieval superstition," he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. "The tree in Canberra dropped a few leaves and Zali is saying it's going to be the end of civilization through climate change. Seriously? "This sort of medieval approach to politics - it's just quite bizarre."

Budget "weak" and Bolt has done sweet FA. He's turned his blog into a short work week as he and his production team can't cope with the economic realities. So screw it take a day off! Bolt never knows how to address cold hard facts. They are simply too difficult for him to pretend he knows what he's talking about. Real data and facts mean nothing to him. His production team obviously has to tell him to SHUSH  and simply miss a day. Where is Terry McCrann when you need him?

So, bring on desperate Mark Latham. He'll do and say anything to fill the space and distract us. He's the most attention seeking MP in Sky's stable. He's their unpaid heavyweight who saves Andrew Bolt on screen for yet another day. As for Zali Steggles well she's just an easy distraction, a woman to kick around, and not debate just mock. Meanwhile the real media can be left to focus on the things that matter.

Federal government making ‘a lot of political decisions’ at the moment

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the federal government is making “a lot of political decisions” at the moment. His comments come after Treasurer Josh Frydenberg delivered the federal budget on Tuesday evening, which saw big spending from the government. “It’s just a very political document,” Mr Clennell told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “They haven’t been too courageous with it, they’ve just extended stimulus measures that they think are popular.”

Andrew Bolt certainly knows very little about economics and the material world he has had nothing to say about the budget and now he's consulting Sky News's Political editor. Bolt appears to be solely an extreme right-wing culture vulture warring with those he calls the left-wing woke who are out to cancel "his" right-wing conservative culture with opposing narratives and "alternative facts".

Yes, Morrison's LNP are making a lot of political decisions for itself with economic consequences not necessarily best for the whole nation.  However that's nothing new as they have been doing much the same  since before 2013.https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/episode-37-big-breakdown-morrisons-band-aid-budget/id1528299411?i=1000521379114
