Australia is a democracy, yet when it comes to the most critical national decision of sending Australian troops into armed conflict overseas, the power rests with one man, the Prime Minister. This is the curtain-raiser for our #warpowers series as reporter Tasha May calls around Australia’s parliamentarians and its people.

China’s totalitarian regime cannot coexist with the democratic world

Ambrose Evans-Pritchard
" President Xi Jinping and the top cadres think they can overcome the Impossible Dilemma: achieving a vibrant, hi-tech economy under the 24-hour surveillance of an absolutist police dictatorship."
What does Pritchard consider Peter Dutton would dearly love to achieve for Australia The other side of the coin Capitalism and it's gaslighting concepts of "Freedom", "Free  Market" can't exist in face of the reality of China or even Socialist Democracies like Iceland and Scandanavia. America can't exist without making Cuba, and Assange suffer and increasing the imprisonment of it's own citizens.
“Xi Jinping’s overly suspicious and narrow-minded personality has led to continuous purges inside the party, which have brought extreme dissatisfaction among the middle and high-level officials. Everyone feels unsafe,” she said.
There have been multiple changes in the LNP so many that the Coalition isn't a coalition anymore. We have witnessed 6 leadership changes since 2013 without achieving any leadership. We have normalised the level of distrust withing an increasingly divided and paranoid non transparent government and called that politics. Secret trials, On the Water Matters, the importing of cheap labor and tax deductions for tax minimisers, evaders and wage thieves has become the norm. Any wonder this increasingly totalitarian regime can't exist with the reality of China and the massive improvements it has achieved for 1.3 billion peoples in just 75 years. Pritchard's predictions are based solely on the ideological almost religious belief that "The US is likely to be the world’s unchallenged economic superpower again by mid-century."That what the U.S. is currently feeling is just a hiccup.
The truth however is that in the real world we all could have been driving Mercedes as long as they were the only car and one colour. All had  guaranteed basic income, free health, education and housing if the common good was really our common goal as opposed to justifying a total self interest model that produced millionaires then billionaires and now trillionaires in the shortest possible time and then saying the "well the wealth of the world has improved along with them"

The owner class is, in a very real sense, a parasite: extracting resources from the host that is the rest of society. Unlike most parasites though, the owner class has convinced the host of its necessity. The current study says ‘not as essential as you think’, and it is to be lauded for that. May its data and conclusions serve as the basis for future, broader trials of this long-overdue and quite fundamental social change.
