Chaos is the goal, and in a world of political 'alternative facts' it reigns supreme. There is only one party that benefits from chaos, culture wars, conspiracies, and that's the anti- Democratic Party the party. The party that can't accept loss, and that's not the ALP. When dirt bags are caught out the LNP always turns to a "false equivalence" in their defence. Claiming everyone in politics is the same and the ALP is worse than them. But we have witnessed that Julia, Bill Albo and Dan aren't Morrison, Dutton, Tudge, Joyce and Christensen at all.
However, vehicles for dirt, mis and dis information have been needed to incite the chaos as the LNP couldn't be seen to be directly involved. That's not to say they didn't have a very active "dirt brigade" or give support to organized right-wing nutters who fed the privatised MSM like Murdoch with the misinformation they wanted spread publicly. Opinion became the the central fearure once known as news. We've seen how News Corp, Sky 2GB et al lapped it up and spread it like fertiliser in anticipation of huge pre election tri-annual advertising harvest to come. Since Whitlam the ALP has, bi and large, always been the target in that war of misinformation. Gillard, Shorten, Rudd and Dan were always defending themselves or ignoring the crap going on around them. Without the ABC any real political reporting would have generally been seen buried and hidden in a mountain of it.
While there is more bullshit being peddled today due to the internet and digital age there is at least a greater amount of truth and informative opinion to be found in and amongst it as well. However, chaos still seems to currently reign an it always favors emotional kneejerk reaction and irrationality and feeds the political strategy of the LNP, Murdoch and the IPA. Who love it beacause as the loudest they blame the ALP. However this isn't just a one sided coin that chaos has also increased a rational and more nuanced engagement in politics which saw the dumping of Abbott in Warringah and what is going also on now. For all the ruckus and Morrison's media blitz the LNP aren't winning the battle of reason and that's reflected in the polls and the booing we saw at Bathurst.
The Russians know that when one side nurses a theory and the other mocks it, chaos and disunity start to discredit democracy. They don’t care which party benefits in any given election, but that the party system loses all round. The US myth-makers can create the same polarisation here. There is only one way to dispel a conspiracy theory and that is to admit to the grain it is built around. Only then can we debunk the wild elaborations of mischievous minds.

My thought for the day I found it impossible to imagine that the 2016Australian people could be so gullible as to elect for a third term a government that has performed so miserably in the first two. And it has has amongst its members some of the most devious, suspicious and chillingly corrupt men and women but they did. (John Lord )
