Corporate media’s reward and their business model’s paycheck. The three  years investment in the quid pro quo arrangement of biased cash for comment with the LNP  is now paying out. Murdoch has been practicing it globally. No News is Good News biased news is even better. News has been turned on it’s head and and a propaganda model defined. In Australia and the UK the ABC and the BBC have to be crushed as insurance and that has been the LNP and Tory contract.

Government advertising has skyrocketed to an all-time high of $685 million. With the looming election campaign, which promises to be the biggest political spend in Australian history, and a gigantic war chest for pork-barrelling, is it any wonder the corporate media barracks for the Coalition? A government that hasn’t been able to effectively mobilise troops to help elderly Australians get in and out of bed reckons it can handle a fight with the second largest military in the world. Defence Minister Peter Dutton, whose department has so far only managed to place 129 out of a promised 1700 defence force personnel into Aged Care facilities, says only the Coalition can defend Australia from the rising threat from China.
