The relentless election cycle

While the LNP has swung Trump so far Right The ALP has nothing left to steal they are almost looking Liberal. While the Liberals can’t talk about the Economy because they are the ones who fucked it The ALP must because their priority is to fix it. Meanwhile, the LNP want to suck them into the rabbit warren of Culture wars where everyone has an opinion and is easily manipulated and heated so much so it divides families and media ambergris.

However, like it or not the ALP is there to repair the economy the material world and make it a fairer place for everyone, and dropping the stage 3 tax promise might just be the best option available. Along with restarting the heart of the ABC which was never meant to be balanced but a body to hold all governments and politicians to account not just a platform for their voice.

So much of what has happened to our politics can be put down to its Americanisation, which on past performance can hardly be accepted as a winning formula. I guess some have just wanted to emulate features of what is often described as the world’s leading democracy. Others (many in the Coalition) have wanted to pick up from the United States Republican party and, in recent years, to emulate and harness its Trumpism. They have been impressed by the way the former US president has built a conservative edifice by exploiting division, attacking members seen as obstructing a more hardline-right economic and social policy agenda, with little grace or empathy.

AFR’s   FAKE NEWS  and a PATHETIC  EXCUSE for a news paper

1) The AFR is part of the Nine Entertainment media organisation, whose chairman is former Liberal Party federal Treasurer Peter Costello.

2) Error one: Worst outcome in the developed world

AFR shows real household disposable income per person to June 2023 for only 21 countries. That’s out of 66 very high development nations, according to UNDP classification, or 38 wealthy members of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation Oops!!

3)It did not clarify, a) that inflation is a global phenomenon nor b) that the unjust tax system and an economy in poor fiscal condition were both recently inherited from the hapless Coalition.

4)When we check the Senate Hansard for Thursday 9 November, we find the Opposition was not referencing the recent OECD analysis of 38 countries. The craven Coalition was simply quoting that morning’s AFR.

5) Recent history in Australia, Britain and the USA suggests that as the next federal election looms, the mainstream media will increase its output of distortions, exaggerations and fabrications. Such is Australia’s doom.

The mainstream media are ramping up efforts to malign the Albanese Labor Government unfairly, as Alan Austin reports.

Palestine vs Israel flag on cracked wall. Israel and Palestine war concept

This war didn’t begin on 7th of October and it isn’t Religious

Now, Israel justifies its indiscriminate attacks on Gaza by demanding return of the 230 hostages, military and civilian, captured by Hamas on 7 October (the 50th anniversary of Yom Kippur war). But between 6000 and 7000 (Scott Ritter says 10000) Palestinians are in jail in Israel, and Hamas won’t give the hostages up without their release. Political and military leaders in Israel have repeatedly stated their intention to rid Gaza of all 2.23 million Palestinians, either by forced emigration to Sinai, or by death.

‘Balance’ between supporters of Israel and of the Palestinians is what most police and State governments in Australia say they seek. So does the ABC. But what’s happening in Gaza isn’t balanced: it is asymmetric warfare.
