" Labor will nevertheless on Monday move a motion in the Senate to petition the Governor General to sack Heydon."
John Hewson believes Dyson Heydon should have stepped down because of his messy handling of it all.
The Unions now have a permanent argument that the government generated $80 mill Commission and the Commissioner are permanently floored and biased.
Ultimately we have short term politics in preference to facing long term issues. Two weeks ago Abbott promised to turn the public debate around to jobs and jobs growth. Instead we still keep seeing him concentrating on short term issues in which hes done terribly badly. Week after week he's shown to be out of control.
The most obvious thing that can be said of today we are witnessing the least progressive period in Australian history lead by the most reactionary PM
Link Andrew Bolt
We haven't seen an end to this by any means. The Unions reserve the right to take it to the High Court for an independent decision.
news.com.au needs to be more investigative in terms of how it presents itself to the public as it has to compete in and arena where readers want real news rather than just biased commentary. If they acted as a Public Relations arm of government they'd quickly lose readers. Consequently they as much an anathema to Andrew Bolt as opposition print media are. However he's unable to be as critical of them as he is non News Corp media.
They offer a reasonable option as to why Dyson Heydon didn't remove himself
"
By remaining in his position Justice Heydon gets to keep his annual salary of close to $1 million."
Bolt's response being "This is far from the first time I’ve wondered what the hell is going on in news.com.au. "

Leaks are occurring in Cabinet. Sinadinos says leaks are occurring and Abbott needs to stop them. Bolt says Sinodinos is destabilizing for saying what's going on an labels him a traitor. Yet he applauds martin Ferguson as a working class hero for speaking his mind. It appears the Liberal Party is no longer that speaking your mind goes against its new collectivist ethic. In fact saying anything about Tony Abbott for months has been a no no as far as Abbott is concerned. The changed and charismatic leader has been put in the closet. What Bolt does is hysterically attacks anybody mentioning his name.Abbott 'urged to dump Hockey, call March poll'

his history and [as] he is well into his 80s he's been doing it for
about 70 years. I think he has developed some skill in the
area," Corbett said.
Abbott 'Can't Govern' because of a hostile senate which Gillard also faced but nevertheless passed more bills than Abbott. Abbott "Can't Negotiate" is more to the point.

" And note: I say this without knowing or presuming the ethnicity of those allegedly involved in the latest incident." The last line of Bolt's blog not the first
When Bolt ends blogs with statements like this you can be sure he wants to present purely by innuendo quite the opposite. He is presuming the ethnicity and citizenship of those involved and wants to generalize and disparage an immigrant group. His last line is merely his escape clause which says "I'm not saying anything but you make up your own mind with my help." Is it vilification of an ethnic group, yes but by stealth.
"There is a strong suggestion of an imported us-against-them tribalism in this:"
" A culture that treats police as the enemy even when they help is one that seems both dangerous and foreign. "
There were the most deaths by gun shootings here in Melbourne not so long ago all gang related no immigrant associations unless Bolt wants to push a point about Italians. Which he doesn't.
So Bolt selects a single Australian family incident that involved police being called and a cop was punched. That in itself is not unique. Does Bolt know the ethnicity of the cop or whether or not he had a closer connection to what occured no!! This is his incident has been selectively chosen. To be backed up by the worst nonsensical set of statistics ever.
As a statistician Bolt's a retard but he wants a suggested conclusion. So he takes a suburb of Sydney Guildford where the above incident occurred and tells us it had 12 instances of drive-by shootings supposedly equal 5th in Sydney since 2012 or in 4 years. Auburn 34 and Merrylands 29 However they don't suit the profile wants to make significant . He wants to connect Lebanese with gun violence . Guildford he thinks does that for him. What do drive bys prove other than the appearance of some possible gang war going on in a suburb by persons of unknown nationalities or even known residence. Bolt merely wants to suggest it's Lebanese suggest it's local and suggest it's ethnically connected and not just gang related.
It could be the activity 6 hoons who belong to gangs not even fighting over Guildford turf. It's statistically insignificant to the demographic Bolt pulls from the census bureau . Drive by crime occurs almost 3 time as much in Auburn and isn't because Bolt doesn't use it. It's not even comparative in any shape or form.
If a Lebanese owned a burger joint at which there was a lot of trouble Bolt would make sure to tell us there is a lot of gang fights at the Lebanese Burger joint in Guildford and leave us to assume anything but people come from wide and far because it's the best in the surrounding suburbs. He wants us to assume the worst and climb onto his bigoted band waggon
"No, not biased at all. Just repeating Socialist Alternative speaking
points as any professional, unbiased ABC presenter would do these days. "
Bolt is an idiot he's now playing Tony Abbott's media court jester trying to distract us all from some trivial isolated press release put out by a nobody named person in government. We should show compassion for Casper because he's a ghost.
However Bolt does put out a real sense of urgency about a real department fuck up by keeping on ringing his bells and making a noise about it. Maybe he should turn to real issues and the state of the economy instead running another side show.
"Britain has turned fascist, too! It also has a border force that’s even asking people at restaurants for papers:"
It's true "operation fortitude" is a carbon copy import from Abbott's other country of citizenship the UK that has moved very much to the right
Has anybody heard Bolt pull back from roasting a member of the other side or anyone he disagrees with? There's more than meets the eye going on here. Bolt is really sympathetic of Latham. When a politician behaves beyond the pale he should be named and shamed. If and when explanations surface at a later date. They become explanations from the man whose no longer the politician. Is Bolt suggesting he be reinstated.
Bolt offers none of this sympathy for Aboriginals or others that suffer addictions or mental health issues. Neither does the law. It only provide for mitigating circumstances after the judgement is made and before sentencing. Brogden's story is an example how we have changed in as much people are coming out and revealing the extent of illness and the need to understand it and not stigmatize it. Had Brogden physically accosted someone would Bolt be so generous?
Mental illness, drug addiction, and crime are largely classless they exist throughout society from Toorak to remote aboriginal communities. How it's dealt with is significantly different. Brogden seems to be no longer in denial from where the shame stems and maybe now he's moved along the path of the 12 steps as proposed NA or AA. We can only hope so. However he knows there was no excuse and shaming the Politician, Judge, or CEO is often very necessary.
Bolt's attempt at being humanist totally hypocritical and self serving.

"Note from the start: this operation against illegal immigrants never took place. And was never going to take place as the media described."
The press release was signed off by a very senior person in the ABF a central part of our Immigration Department. The press release was sent to Peter Dutton's office and was seen by his staff. Dutton claims he never saw it. However that seems hardly likely as it was by no means intended to be a small and trivial action. It was even given a big action and the good luck name" Operation Fortitude." It must have been something discussed before hand just for it's title alone. So Dutton knew about it.
According to Bolt however it had as much substance as Casper. That's what the government wants us to believe now. So in schoolboy debating fashion Bolt is trying to flip the debate. He's trying to blame those asking the who's , where's and why-fores of gross incompetence. Tyrants are known to disappear people for questioning obvious cock ups. Democracies welcome the questions no matter how embarrassing. One need only ask how far right of center was the initial concept of Operation Fortitude? Since discovered how forthright is the government being and now how right of center is exercise of damage control assisted by News Corp and Andrew Bolt in salvaging Tony Abbott's from his Children over board Moment?
If the named but not shamed critics Bolt calls out have not disappeared by the end of the day it can't be called a Pinochet or Franco event. Yet Bolt is treating it as such almost crying for the removal of their citizenship and the deportation of these insurgents. Bolt is not an Australian he has no understanding of irony or Australian political humour he cant laugh like an Australian or be seen publicly he's just far too right wing. Has anybody actually seen this man of the people in a crowd?Border Farce: Sorting fact from fiction

With 28% of Australians born overseas, and an estimated third of Australians thought to be dual citizens,
there are potentially millions of Australians at risk of detainment and
deportation. Approximately 600 visas have already reportedly been cancelled by the Minister on ‘character grounds’ in the past year alone.

Maybe a Royal Commission needs to be held into the corruption in private sector industries such as Mining, Banking, Finance, Contruction, The acts of corruption and disregard for regulation cost this country far more than the petty cash activities of the trade unions. Where ever there's a receiver there a giver. If bolt readily talks about bribes recieved by trade union officials who was doing the bribing seems a question avoided. Never forget George Herscu.Bolt does.

" Former Howard Government minister Amanda Vanstone on Labor’s sinister campaign to destroy Dyson Heydon,
head of the royal commission into union corruption, for accepting an
invitation from Liberal lawyers to give a lecture on the law:"
Dyson Heydon's admissions still remain swept under the carpet. He admitted the act of acceptance and not reading and exploring the invitation sufficiently was an act of memory loss and carelessness on his part. He reprimanded Gillard and Shorten for what he regarded as biased answers spurred by self interest on issues forgotten 6 years prior. His forgetfulness was a matter of months.
All of Bolt's blogs conveniently overlook this fact and are simply deflections away from the central issue whether what happened shows the bias he accused Shorten and Gillard of. thus his competence to remain head of the Commission.

Bolt's
target the ABC is News Corps's opposition to larger corporate profit.
Because it supplies trusted news information despite thin ratings. It
does it in the tried and true method of real journalism as it was
intended to be in a democracy and it does it without bias in the style
of an independent and public broadcaster.
Australia is a wide
and broad palette of urban , rural, remote multi-cultural tastes with a
diverse range of political and social interest groups who don't all
serve the business models of private media in their simplistic search
for ratings. The ABC shines it's light on a variety of groups and has a
broader agenda. Like Choice or any other quality controller it assesses the
value of our institutions and other diverse groups publicly for us. To say someone is not doing their job well is not being
biased. To say that the public interest is not being served is an news
and information service and is not bias. To invite these diverse groups on the ABC to have their say is not bias if one group out of petulance decides to go on strike. The government is only one of many institutions and groups
the ABC examines. It's not bias.
Only weak governments,
opaque governments, governments lacking transparency cry foul. They sometimes do
it directly as Abbott did with his collectivist LNP strike. They expect the
public broadcaster to serve them as do some private media who
act as quasi PR and advertising agents for them. News Corp being the
prime example. It's where the business of media and politics intersect
for mutual but not always the public interest but in a way that undermines any notion
of democracy.
"
But the ABC seems only too eager to hurt this Government:" Bolt
In it's manic urgency to suggest that Operation Fortitude was only an error in a badly worded press release by some junior in the immigration department and not the intended deployment of Abbott's army on the center of Melbourne. New's Corp has tried to smother any natural questions or humour about the incompetence of a government department. It wasn't a government issue but only an "operational matter" according to Julie Bishop. Isn't that the term invented by Scott Morrison to now secret matters that can't be talked about?
News Corp instead of asking the questions expected of any news organization the how, when, where and whys simply tries to shut those questions down or when they can't do that they herald them as subversive. As usual Bolt's employed to deflect away from Operation Fortitude and try to distort whats actually happening.
Bolt diverts from Operation Fortitude to Captain Hastie and Canning it's a wonder he didn't turn to the Colombian contract on Mick Gatto to smother any legitimate questioning of what appears to be a farce. Many however believe it was to be an intended show and tell operation by Tony Abbott to boost his ratings. An operation that an ex cop and now Minister Peter Dutton woefully botched.
