Fighting Fake News with REAL 18/1/22; Peter Costello's SMH and the Age polls "we think" Morrison's the better manager ; Material facts prove otherwise

Australia housing, real estate, property market

The Age declares "we think" the LNP are better money managers. History of our material reality shows the reverse is true.

A drastic slide in home ownership, mirrored by an equally dramatic rise in mortgage debt and renting, is a direct result of failed government policy. Spiralling inequality in the “Land of the Fair Go can be addressed, ironically, by stronger lending standards. Economist and The New Liberals candidate Steve Keen on the crisis in affordable housing. At the 1998 Census, 43% of Australians owned their houses outright, 29% had a mortgage, 18% rented from private landlords, and 6% from the government (the remainder were in hotels, homeless, etc). Twenty years later, only 30% owned their houses outright, 37% had a mortgage, while 27% rented from landlords and 3% from the government. And yet the objective of housing policy, under both Liberal and Labor governments, was to increase home ownership.

While Morrison and Frydenberg tell us how well we are doing and how globally admired we are economically the reality is hugely different. 8 years ago we were the world’s best and Abbott was Chicken Little screaming ” the sky was falling in”. 4 people died under the ALP’s Pink Bats scheme and we were spending far too much money to escape the GFC. History has shown that the Morrison/ Frydenberg LNP government has brought us to the worst position we have ever faced historically and had arrived there even before the pandemic. Their claims now are akin to those of Monty Python’s Black Knight telling us he was winning the battle. What’s worse Peter Costello’s Ch9 has printed a “poll” showing we still believe Morrison and Frydenberg are the “best managers”. Yes we do believe in fake news but then Gina made $9bn in two years didn’t she?

The Morrison Government’s tally of economic indicators which are the “all-time weakest” or “worst decline in the developed world” keeps climbing, reports Alan Austin. THE PROBLEMS THE Morrison Government has with mistreating women exist on many levels. Many economic outcomes which show impacts on men and women confirm female wellbeing has declined under this regime. 41. Lowest global ranking on gender gap since records began The world has advanced impressively in recent decades in closing the gap between men and women on education, job opportunities, wages and work conditions. Only one developed economy has gone backwards badly on this measure since 2014: Australia.

Morrison

Peter Costello tries to boost Morrison by telling us “what we think” in The Age poll.

However:

The rising death toll and explosion in infections are a direct result of the failure to provide adequate safeguards to cope with these new “freedoms”. Experts warned exceptionally high vaccination rates by world standards would not be enough. Instead, we were given the mantra of “getting the government off people’s backs and out of their lives”. It was a stark dereliction of a government’s public health responsibilities. The failure to provide self-administered rapid antigen tests (RATs) as an essential tool in keeping the country functioning is a major contributor to the deep malaise we are now experiencing. Empty supermarket shelves are the most eloquent witnesses to this reckless wishful thinking. The situation has become so dire even Labor leader Anthony Albanese’s critics are giving him a serious second look.

But Peter Costello's The Age says he's our man

The failings of the Coalition Government have finally dented its support among its core constituencies that are crucial to its re-election efforts, writes Andrew P Street. SAY WHAT YOU WILL will about notoriously inactive Prime Minister Scott Morrison: when he does finally make a move, he has a magnificent instinct for turning a single problem into a majestically cascading series of catastrophes.

DEBUNKING THE MYTH THAT THE LNP ARE GOOD ECONOMIC
 MANAGERS
The mainstream media is pushing hard for the fiction that the Coalition competently manages the economy, as Alan Austin reports.
Former fox news political editor Chris Stirewalt once said:
“The secret that Trump knows is that if you’re going to lie, go big.
Right?
Don’t waste your time on niggling little prevarications.
Go big.
And then what you do is wait for the obsequious toadies to come along and rationalise your lie.”
That sage advice on how to steal elections has been taken to heart by the Morrison Government and some journalists in Canberra’s Press Gallery.
The "big lie" in Australia is that the Coalition manages the economy better than Labor. It is a tried and true tactic, asserted repeatedly in every election since 1974.
It was not true then and has not been true any time since.
The economic evidence overwhelmingly indicates the opposite.

A group of 63 Australian Research Council laureates have written to acting Education Minister Stuart Robert with their fears research funding in Australia is becoming “political and short-sighted”

Stuart Robert once again played politics the way a cat burglar invades a house or a pickpocket your person. He hopes he personally will go unnoticed. Whether it’s Rolex watches, personal expenses or NDIS funding Roberts loves to make out he’s the invisible man and go unnoticed. He’s the real politician. The phantom who only represents himself and his party’s interests not ours.

The open letter signed by 63 present and former ARC laureate fellows, sent to Mr Robert and ARC chief executive Professor Sue Thomas on Tuesday, said the researchers were “very concerned in the way that applications for 2022 ARC Discovery Projects were managed”. They said the decision came a month late when university research offices were closed and staff would be unprepared to start work by January 1.

Most of us are well aware it’s far more likely that a 7-year-old hasn’t done their homework than the dog actually ate it. Morrison hasn’t even attempted to give us a reason why his government’s homework hasn’t been done. Fortunately for us, the state leaders have demonstrated they have the real power, time and time again.

By 2019, profits were up 69.3%, far outstripping wages which had lifted only 51.1%. By March this year – the latest numbers – wages were up just 59.3% on 2008, but profits had surged 91.9%. Thus, it seems clear there is only one explanation for any working Australian still supporting the Coalition. A kick in the head by a horse.

FAKE NEWS AND MISINFORMATION EXPOSED

Bolt claims he doesn't just deliver opinion he delivers facts

CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA - NOVEMBER 13: Prime Minister Scott Morrison holds a news conference in the prime minister's courtyard on November 13, 2020 in Canberra, Australia. Morrison urged the national cabinet to reopen all of Australiaââ¬â¢s state borders by Christmas as Covid-19 cases plummet, with only 12 newly diagnosed cases and 81 active cases nationally as of November 12. Additionally Victoria has achieved 14 consecutive days of no new cases being reported. (Photo by Sam Mooy/Getty Images)

The latest three virus deaths in the Sydney outbreak - up to Sunday - cannot be blamed on the Prime Minister. Nor are anri-vaxxers alone to blame. Blame also the fear-mongering of journalists, Labor politicians and health officials.

Almost everyone likes blaming Prime Minister Scott Morrison for the lockdowns that are meant to stop people dying.

But Sydney’s last three virus deaths show that’s too lazy.

Those deaths were of a man in his 80s, a woman in her 90s and a man in his 60s who died at home.

Like all 14 people who’ve died in this outbreak, all were unvaccinated.

For the oldest, this is extraordinary. Morrison begged the elderly for months to get vaccinated, and had plenty of vaccines for them.

What we have here is a turd trying to polish, yes, a turd and not doing it too well. Hitler can't be blamed for the WW2 either Andrew Bolt can he?

Bolt never mentions the Covid-19 related deaths of young people under the age of 40 or the number of cases of much younger people currently in hospital and in intensive care. Covid-19 related deaths and serious cases aren't any longer an aged related problem only. We are in the grips of a global pandemic. But then Bolt really has no concern for Public Health or the health of others but rather he sees health as his individual decision as does Morrison and all the LNP even those in federally run aged-care homes who still haven't been vaccinated. If by chance they have been they are free to be spreaders. 70% of the adult nation means 50% of the nation will be free to spread Covid around because that 50% will be 90 % of the privileged elite.

Strange Bolt doesn't complain about our anti-smoking laws or the compulsory vaccination laws we have in place for a wide range of other illnesses where exemptions need to be applied  rather than simply the freedom to choose. Laws where condoms are more than just a matter 'free choice' if HIV is concerned. Whose fault was it to refuse to invest in "fit for purpose" quarantine stations if it wasn't Morrison's then? Who failed to sign contracts and insured an insufficient quantity of vaccine but told the nation we were in "front of the queue when it came to supply if it wasn't Morrison? Who is denying Public Health is a government concern in a pandemic but Morrison and why? Morrison is ready to blame everyone but himself " no he doesn't hold the hose" but it is his job to insure that there is water there to use it. According to Morrison if there is no water for the hose or your not vaccinated it's your fault and Andrew Bolt is defending him.

No wonder Sky News has been banned from YouTube and its videos taken down for misinformation and not just opinion on Covid. We are experiencing a global pandemic and Morrison, Bolt, and Newscorp are denying it. They are denying the social responsibility we all have toward each other for the good of the nation. Where necessary social action is needed to ensure the well being of not just our selves but everyone we come in contact with. Morrison and the LNP haven't done any of that and all we have heard and seen is false promise after false promise swept behind further promises that have not been anywhere near fulfilled.

We are still globally positioned 37/38 of the most wealthiest nations when it comes to vaccination. Bolt claims that's "not Morrison's fault". Bhutan has vaccinated the whole country in a week 750,000 people 100% of the country. We have just managed to reach that rate after 5 months and have managed 17% of the country. Bali has done 70% of the island and is vaccinating tourists and visa holders. We aren't doing that. Whose fault is that if it isn't Morrison's? Ask Bolt and you get little more than smoke blown in your face. If your not vaccinated "it's your fault" no matter who you are. The government doesn't hold the health of the nation hose. That my friends is the sound byte of a turd.

DON’T BLAME SCOTT MORRISON FOR THESE VIRUS DEATHS

Toxic multiculturalists - the Greens, the ABC and Labor - are recklessly inciting immigrant communities to fear and hate the soldiers sent to stop them dying of the virus.

Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi, like many on the Left, loves blaming “far-right conspiracy theories” for spreading a dangerous “Covid-scepticism”.

But Faruqi, like the ABC and Labor, is now spreading an even more dangerous Left-wing conspiracy theory – that it’s “plain bastardry” by a racist government to send soldiers to supposedly pick on immigrants in Sydney’s lockdown.

These race-baiters are inflaming paranoia over the NSW Government’s decision to ask 300 soldiers to help fight the Sydney outbreak, even though Victoria’s woke Labor Government also used soldiers last year – and for much the same reasons.

It, too, saw the virus spreading fastest in suburbs with lots of immigrants, many of whom had poor English, needed to work, and had such strong family networks that some insisted on visiting relatives even during a lockdown.

Last week Andrew Bolt was railing about "the police" being used to quell a legitimate anti-lockdown non violent protest in Sydney a protest organized largely by the extreme white right-wing of Aussies. He claimed them be patriots the likes of MPs George Christensen and James Campbell. Patriots who had  the health of the nation in mind when faced the onslaught of State Run Police.

The Nations Federaly controlled army it seems is another matter. Bolt is protesting where there is no protest other than his fictitious left-wing one that's not publicly confronting anyone let alone the ADF. Nowhere to be seen are Bolt's left-wing protestors, not any confronting anyone. If that's not blowing smoke in our face what is? Yet, Bolt gets paid to do just that and why YouTube banned Newscorp. Ray Hadley was so right in describing him as a wannabe ineffectual, whose impact has been than a marshmellow. So, 2GB dumped him.
