 Mr Evans said it was reasonable to protect the research of high military sensitivity, but he believed Chinese government-funded Confucius Institutes were largely "innocuous" and no more dangerous to Australia's national interests than university partnerships with British, French and German organisations.

The bizarre effort Bolt has put to attacking one man is so Trumpish it appears more of a self-defence of Andrew Bolt that an indictment of Bruce Pascoe. Is his entire week of hysterics meant to convince us Indigenous Australians were merely hunter-gatherers for 60,000 years no. It seems more of a defence of Bolt trying to tell us he's a journalist needing to be believed.

Bolt ignores the archeological evidence that has been found that disproves his arguments. Of bluestone canals miles long built for entrapping eels and other evidence. Why funding not forthcoming for deeper research into the 60,000-year-old cultures that inhabited this land one wonders when massacres sights have been discovered in increasing numbers. Bolt's attack on Pascoe adds nothing to the strength of the denial white man's history in all it's aspects is wrong. It's simply a paranoid effort to justify Terra Nullis and declare the legitimacy and invasion of Australia under British law.

Bolt's panic in this context simply makes his bullshit stand out in relief and Rick Morton's questions relevant and to the point.

Institutions such as family schools reinforce the dominant ideological forms of thinking onto the populace and force us into becoming obedient and docile beings.^[17] Hence, the dominant ideology  serves the interests of the ruling class, all the while appearing as `neutral`.  In fact Bolt reduces life to a moot.

Tradition needs to be questioned and must not go unchallenged.^[16]That certain aspects of logical thought common to all humans seemed to exist, but that they were products of collective life (thus contradicting the idea of "free speech" and  values are acquired by individual experience alone.  They differ from society to society. Freedom equality and fairness are social arrangements in themselves to be pursued and not just accepted in Bolt's imaginary free market place of ideas. Societies and rules do exist within us and without and are in constant need of examination freedom and equality ensured by written and unwritten rules. Bolt is a regular "cop caller"

In fact he's so excited about it it's almost as if  he is demanding actions we  have seen In South Africa, Chile and Argentina where protestors  were simply disappeared. "Peaceful Conservatives" is an oxymoron. These are the very people who support the peaceful bombing of nations other nations and then declare that the refugee created aren't their responsibility. These are the Bolt's that fury when our institutions don't dance to their tune. These are the peaceful conservatives who claim our institutions are dominated by a hostile and aggressive left that's sexist, racist, uncivil these are the Australians Andrew Bolt moderates of his News Corp sponsored diary and doesn't give space to on his Bolt Report. These are the people that are fully aware that speech isn't just a moot and is hard fought for not always for themselves. These are the people Bolt would if he could have defined as medically insane he often uses psychiatric language to boost these arguments while supporting his beliefs as the only healthy ones.

   Yes Andrew Bolt keeps a little black book on protest as evidence if only he could reinstall the McCarthy and make Australia Great Again. Unfortunately Bolt never tells us if and when that was.   Paul Kelly claims there's no Laboral party

  Paul Kelly continues to rage against nameless conservatives: "The populist conservatives like spinning the line of no real policy differences between Turnbull and Shorten — like most of their polemic it is nonsense..." Oh, really? Let's play spot-the-difference.

  In typical fashion I don't believe Bolt even bothered to read what Paul Kelly said.  If he has he doesn't explain it. Maybe because you have to buy it to find out!! 
  Bolt was too eager to tell us 1 million people have become conservatives that's not the case That is as convincing  as saying The Donald is a Republican and therefore those that voted for him must be there is no truth in any of that and it doesn't follow.  It seems to me Kelly is talking about two opposing ideologies and not particular policies. However since we only have Bolt's word for what it is Kelly is saying there is no guarantee he's even slightly right.
    " Let's go through some of the big policy issues that have helped to drive more than a million conservatives away from the Liberals (and Labor). Let's play spot-the-difference with the Labor and Liberal policies:" Bolt suggests they aren't even on the same page.Paul Kelly quite clearly isn't a bean counter like Bolt. 
  
   Kelly isn't refering to his little policy list as Bolt is  he is on about  "systems of ideas and ideals, especially ones which form the basis of economic or political theory and policy."
  What's Bolt talking about policies:
  a)  indoctrinate children into thinking gender is a social construct, but it has left much of that scheme intact.  Wow, the primative notion that gender was an absolute has been trashed by Anthropoligists and Social Biologists since before the 1900s
  b)  global warming that is probably not a big menace anyway. Bolt should ask the people of Sydney about the fact the planet was cooling
  c) when our gross debt is about to smash past $500 billion. Tony Abbott lifted the debt ceiling and even he has declared it was his worst economic management decision.
   Bolt simply seems to be arguing in an entirely different arena to Paul Kelly and even the points he's raising are simply wrong so much so he doesn't quite make sense but that's not unusual for Bolt. 
  Like the US there is a major ideological difference between Democrats and Republicans that difference and that battleground wasn't defined by the election of Donald Trump. It seems Bolt believes it is and everyone that voted for him is ideologically in tune with him. The problem here is Bolt obviously fails to elucidate  Kelly  and given the above points make little sense why should we believe anything he has to say?. We don't seem to have been invited to the argument.
