Fighting Fake News with REAL; 27/1/21; Fighting for maintaining a Racist Australia, Fight for Change; Trumpism the core of the LNP

Australia needs to move on from the racist ideology upon which it was founded

Despite global attitudes changing, the racist principles on which our country was founded are still prevalent in today's government.

PMs past and present call for changes

Everyone has an opinion on January 26 – not least of all, Australian prime ministers.

From Kevin Rudd, Malcolm Turnbull and Tony Abbott to current PM Scott Morrison and aspirant Anthony Albanese, the nation’s leaders used Tuesday to talk up their personal grab bags of burning issues; national unity and pride, the environment, “woke” and “cancel” culture and Indigenous recognition and calls to ‘change the date’.

Meanwhile, in happily blessed Australia, it is official government policy to keep travelling down the Trump road, to increase the inequality and division that made President Trump possible.

Right-wing media helped usher in the age of “cancel culture,” but now pretend it's an invention of the left

From Roger Ailes to Andrew Breitbart to James O'Keefe to Donald Trump, right-wing media has been built on cancel culture for decades

Let's face it Andrew Bolt certainly makes out it's a left wing tactic.

After Rupert Murdoch slams ‘woke orthodoxy’ & social media censorship, critics lambast tycoon’s own ‘malign influence’

Rupert Murdoch has accused social media platforms of creating an ideologically driven atmosphere of conformity, garnering applause as well as accusations that his vast media empire is guilty of the same crime.

The awards – Australia Day - Australia Day Foundation

The Awards · The Australian of the Year in the UK · Recognises an Australian who has excelled in their own right in the United Kingdom. · The Honorary Australian ...

He's American who doesn't even live in UK but was basically drummed out of the place. Yet he'st made a video in response this Lifetime Achievement Award by the Australia Day Foundation (UK) which honors Australians in the UK. The UK seems conveniently left unsaid in the many news reports Murdoch was given to boost his reputation. Very Trumpesque don;t you think. Reminds me of the time Murdoch took Tony Abbott to a $200 lunch in Atlanta and had him photgraphed shaking hands with VIPs like Sen John McCain to Daily Telegraph boost Abbott's failing reputation. FAKE NEWS

Here's a case of Bolt deboosting someone for giving he and his mates the pip

GIVING US THE PIP ON AUSTRALIA DAY

What fashion designer Pip Edwards said: "If another country invaded Australia and took it over, massacred many of our families...  would we and our descendants want to 'celebrate' the anniversary of that day?." What she then did: "Just hours later, Pip shared photos from an Australia Day party she attended, and wrote: 'A day to celebrate.

Andrew Bolt Australia's loudest hypocrite calling us out out for being hypocrites. It's the side not the principle he keeps accusing us of if caught transgressing his standards to which we should all adhere.

However there doesn't seem to be an Australian flag in the shot. There's no explanation as to what the party was about other than what Bolt and the Herald Sun feed us. There are no pictures of what Bolt did on Australia Day. He seems to have stayed home, inside and mourned while searching for a reason to berate others. His dogs are more Australian than he is they don't bark at everyone. (ODT)

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announces the new strain at a press conference at Downing Street.

'Worst moment of whole epidemic': Britain says new virus strain up to 70 per cent more transmissible

A mutated coronavirus strain up to 70 per cent more transmissible than earlier versions is spreading rapidly across Britain.

President Donald Trump, right, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are at odds over the alleged Russia hack.

Trump downplays Russia hack, clashes with Pompeo

What virus? It's All about Me

Washington: Donald Trump is at odds with one of his closest allies, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, over who was responsible for the massive cyber-attack on the US government.

While Mr Pompeo fell into line with the consensus that Russia orchestrated the hack, Mr Trump suggested without evidence that China may have been the culprit, and that it may have also helped rig the election in favour of Joe Biden.

The Coalition's 'right to rule' mentality

The Government is well and truly broken, says Peter Henning.

Accusing its own citizens of being “an enemy of the state” and creating millions of enemies in its own region and around the world on a range of issues suggests that representatives of the Morrison Government bear comparison with the ministers of George III in 1774, who dismissed Edmund Burke with a shrug and a joke.

The bellowing of the Home Affairs minister, akin to Trump’s bellicose attacks on all those he doesn’t like, stands in stark contrast to the inability of his department to do anything constructive during any real threat to Australia.

Australians like Adam Bandt and the Chinese-Australians gratuitously attacked by Eric Abetz aren’t “enemies of the state” and nor are those people who this Government likes to lock up for years on end.

But any solutions to the “state of mindlessness” which dominates the crazy Versailles Canberra bubble can only occur through alternative channels, such as state governments filling the void.

There seems nothing else on offer.

This is TRUMPISM

Our economy needs us to spend money we haven't got.

Waleed Aly
You’re not buying enough stuff! That seems to be the message as best I can distil it from the latest round of news about a “retail recession”. This week it came from research by the NAB that found that retail sales have dropped to levels not seen since the recession of 1991. A couple of months ago, the same survey found it was at levels not seen since the global financial crisis. Seems we’re going backwards. And this at a time the Morrison government has just given us a tax cut in the expectation that we’d spend it.
Is Waleed Aly asking us to be Trumps? To spend like he did as a business-man and send 6 companies Bankrupt or does our economy to survive need to be shared more equitably by us.

Politicians remind us the country must 'live within its means', yet our economy relies on people doing the opposit.

‘Slowbalization’: Is the Slowing Global Economy a Boon or Bane?

( Foreign Policy in Focus) – Some economists worry the world has passed “peak globalization.” But that could be good for the planet. By John […]
The challenge now is to preserve the political internationalism necessary to address global problems like climate change and, at the same time, retrofit the global economy so that it meets the needs of people and the planet. This trick of separating the beneficial internationalism from the dregs of economic globalization must also be accomplished as quickly as possible.

Trump Gins Up Hate Against Rep. Rashida Tlaib

I'm sorry, Trump, have you ever met yourself? Have you seen one of your own rallies? I mean, I'm old enough to remember you humping a flag pole, and pretending the entire country of Sweden is your friend, and Rep. Tlaib is the lunatic? And let's please not forget that these four Congresswomen now need extra protection from the Capitol police because of you and your attacks on them. If anything happens to Rep. Tlaib or the others, it will be because of your Nuremburg rallies, and the blood will be on your hands.
Lou Dobbs Praises ICE Employee For Running Down Jewish Protestors
Lou Dobbs wants another Charlottesville.
At a Rhode Island ICE facility on Wednesday evening, an ICE employee used their SUV to ram through a group of peaceful protesters. At least five people were injured.
ABC News reports that the group protesting was "led by members of the "Never Again" movement, which likens undocumented immigrants being imprisoned to the treatment of Jews during the Holocaust."
Does this mean all of ICE is anti-Semitic? You know that's how Trump would frame this incident, and Maggie Haberman would see it as a smart political move.
