Andrew Bolt's Blog,6/6/15; A common element of mental illness is egocentricity Bolt has it in spades; Bolt's blogs hae become little more than paywalls for Murdoch; Gillian Triggs and the UN; Long Term Unemployed throught the roof. But Abbott and Hockey prefer figures to people:

Democracy requires a well informed voting with the highest ethics of our fourth estate.Unholy colusion fear for profit and polls. Business and Government the unholy link. Keep the mothers terrified

To old-school journalists everywhere: thank you

<i>Washington Post</i> journalists Carl Berstein and Robert Woodward brought down US president Richard Nixon with their Watergate investigation.

Peter Hartcher says we shouldn’t believe those denials of the people who leaked to him

Link SMH

Are we to assume Bolt knows anything on this matter? He once said Abbott knew the leak in Abbott's office but out of loyalty Abbott kept the leaker unnamed and safe. Does anybody believe that of Abbott? Nope, nope, nope. Bolt seems to hint he knows but does anybody believe Bolt is staying stum for Abbott's benefit? Nope, nope, nope.

Who stands to benefit? The word "backfire" is touted by Bolt but politicians have advisers who do their best not to 'backfire'. It only happens on captain's calls so this seems well planned. Given Abbott is the winner in all of this the odds on favorite is the man himself along with  a close ally. If he had the numbers Bolt says Abbott has it wouldn't favour anybody else.  Sorry nobody but Bolt stands out as obviously stupid in all of gossip.

"Those who leaked to Hartcher have just had him point them out and trash their denials."

"How funny."

All that insider knowledge and still chasing ghosts

Would Obama’s US be even more popular if it vanished competely?

Steyn wants to nudge in on the Bevis Butthead rhetoric . One thing is for certain democrats have been more right wing than Bush ever was in the policies they have enacted both domestically and internationally. They have sent troops over borders to kill without regard. Drones have reigned death on the innocent and domestic security has been enhanced to a level never seen before in US history. What's even more scary the Republicans say it's not enough.

Tuvalu, not drowning but waving

Link Bolt 2010

“foregone conclusion” that Tuvalu would be uninhabitable “within the next 50 years”, he claimed."

It's been 5 years and Bolt is doing a Rumpelstiltskin. The report does seem to acknowledge the success of some human intervention or am I misreading what's being said here?

"Tuvalu and many other low-lying Pacific islands are so far rising even faster, thanks to coral debris, coral growth, land reclamation and deposits of sediment. Some have grown by as much as a third."

Ah, Queensland. Newman one day, but this stuff the next

Bolt and Newscorp stat decs.

Liberal Gavin King ex Newscorp reporter had a collection obtained accusing Billy Gordon of serious breaches. Billy was found innocent. However King remains in hot water himself.

Peter Slipper had accusations made against him also with the aid of Newscorp also found innocent. His accuser is still under investigation. Serious damage was done to Slipper.

What Bolt conveniently omits here is that Rick Williams is being investigated because of yes stat decs! Acquired by yes Newscorp with the assistance of the LNP dirt brigade. It's why at the end of this blog Bolt heads for the escape clause

"To repeat what the story says, Williams denies the allegations."

Flaming faucets! Another green scare debunked by fracking report

Well isn't that good it was a study carried out by Obama's EPA and yet to be peer-reviewed. It also had a very narrow focus. It merely said that there was no concern for any systemic reasons not concern with regard accidental reasons for spoiling the water table. One egg doesn't make an omlette

Greece won’t pay. So waddya gonna do about it?

Link Daily Mail

"By invoking the clause in its loan contract,"

Really misinformation by ommission the clause that bolt refers to but conveniently doesn't explain Greece is within it's rights to invoke and use that clause in it's contract if you have one and it's in the fine print feel free to use it. Payment is due 30th june. Go play Chiken Little elsewhere Bolt

Incredible cruelty

Link Bevis Tim Blair

You can hear the sniggering  after Bevis posted his response and Butthead reposted it. Sounds like a Dorothy Dixer to me for yes you guessed it the Canberra Times. Everybody Murdoch strange, No!! shocking Canberra cruelty

Laugh at this one boys The Abbott government is facing a worrying growth in long-term unemployment but many in business and politics are staying silent. Hockey hails figures but forgets people. Profit before Australians.

How can Gillian Triggs possibly stay when she is so biased?

Link Paywall to the Herald Sun and self referencing.

Peter Dutton reacted in knee jerk fashion responding to something Gillian Triggs did not say. He called a media conference before checking the facts. But that's par for the course for this government and even more so for Dutton a waanabe Scott Morrison with murdoch media and Andrew Bolt right behind him. Furthermore he did it whilst  a 5 month old baby was transported  to detention. The government is telling us in the same breath children numbers are going down.  However there are kids who have been there 5 years and one whose claims of sexual molestation seem to go unheard. Don't let the UN ask why! YOU WONT HEAR THAT FROM BOLT

Who on earth said the the roll of the UNHRC commissioner was to be neutral and therefore serve no function? Her job is to ask the hard questions of the government for the UN. Abbott has the option to walk away from any UN agreements signed and stop funding the UNHRC. Why isn't Bolt advocating that option?

Any questions of government  on behalf of the UN no matter what are inherently leftist.  It's Bolt's standard Pinochet line. What are the neutral questions appropriate of the UNHRC to ask? How would Bolt approach the role? The very notion of social responsibility and rights is collectivist therefore leftist. There are no grounds for any such collectivist ideas in Bolt's community, wrong!!

Bolt is a strong advocate of intervention when it comes to the indigenous and single mothers in poverty, remove their kids and put them in detention. He lauds being 3rd in the world for the incarceration of the indigenous.

A good paper, now too eager by half

Link Just a Pay Wall for his boss, and the Conservative Quadrant

YOU WONT HEAR THIS FROM BOLT

Statistically the No vote  in the history of Australian referendums has been predominant. As much as Bolt may like to believe it's all about him and his contrarian efforts on Recognize  should the no vote succeed it's not. However when the time comes like all those suffering severe mental illness he will have no shame in declaring it was due to his struggle alone. It's for this reason  Bolt suggested a referendum on marriage equality as well. Here we have  the man who has no time for history when arguing the case against Recognize using his knowledge of the same when it suits.

As for the Australian Paul Kelly was right all along when he suggested the Australian editors stay well away from Bolt on the constitutional issue and remain reporters. The printing of an article against the issue of Recognize does not suggest as Bolt would like to believe that the Australian is "eager by half" or turned around. One egg does not make a Quiche
