How much has Abbott already advanced Lomborg or is that a secret to be revealed in 30 years? Can Bolt name one campus that he regards as the appropriate model for his type of education system in the world's top 100? How to lie with statistics. Bolt is a perfect example. Stats used not to argue for or against Climate Change but simply to show how statistics can be abused in order to defy your intelligence. Just leave out his red line. Even his graph shows the planet has been warming for 36 years. Bolt logic. stick to the training manual forget what actually emerges from the data. Find how you can make data fit your conclusion. The planet has been warming since records first started. Unless of course you only look at the red square.

Now that's an intelligent response from someone addressing a global scientific issue with a list of non global but only local evidence. Bolt continually does this as do other commentators and all are wrong. Local differences don't address the global evidence available and being sick of it and throwing an irrational tantrums does absolutely nothing to address the global issue. Bolt and Faine can argue until the cows come home about the probability of local events being anomalies or the direct effect of global conditions. Bolt has added nothing.
However Bolt has presented 36 years of global evidence in the form of a graph dated from 1979. However Bolt's distortion is that he simply points to a partial measurement to try to prove a point which the total and homogenized graph contradicts. Global warming as shown here shows warming has occurred not only since 1979 but since records have begun.

Oh, Industry Funds are ok but Union funds a no no. Even though they have been far out performing others with lower than average fees. You don't hear that from Bolt. Does Bolt believe members would bail on funds providing superior yields?
What a surprise money and politics go hand in glove. Your money in the banks was invested in areas of bank interest with fees and charges much higher than Union Funds producing extremely low yields and accusations of conflict of interest. Banks forwarding your money into their favored clients not the researched best investments. If Bolt denies this let it be said I've had money invested in 4 CBA funds for a net yield of 2%pa after some 12 years. Since when has politics and religion become a public domain. Who you vote for has never been a question on any job application that I know and the ballot box has always been a sacrosanct area. Since when has Andrew Bolt been the leader of a party demanding hands in the air voting. Does he do the rounds of News Corpse demanding to know who people vote for? Does he actually know who all members of the Liberal Party actually voted for on ballot day. The simple answer is no and it's private as is your religion.
His attack on Jones by Bolt is as ludicrous as an attack on him would have been when he once worked for the Labour Party in Darwin and did his job without puking or fear he might be asked "Who do you vote for" or "what religion are you"? Can we imagine Grand Inquisitors standing over us ensuring every move is totally devoid of politics. No Bolt's demands are closer to the demands of ISIS when it comes to the purity he's looking for. You see Zacky Muller can't express his opinions on the ABC but Bolt demands Troy Newman to be allowed to even though his partner was jailed for actually bombing an abortion clinic not just threatening to. Removing a concession from the rich is not the end all or be all of any economic policy. But when proffered in a group by all interested parties it has a greater chance of being passed than if made as just a captain's call. To be agreed to in a summit is the reverse of Abbott's style of negotiating policies that's for sure. If it does reduce the deficit by $2bill why aren't they applauding it as a good start? Heaven help us, the rich in "their" society as opposed to "ours" are obviously untouchables. They are the renters, interest takers and capital gains receivers the most unproductive among us who merely achieved their wealth through inheritance. They are the recipients of the greatest source of subsidised private welfare. Don't they deserve to share in any burden we choose to apply to fix our economic problems?
