Why was Turnbull "wrong" ? Because Andrew Bolt says so? Who says anything was wrong other than some US bureaucrat saying it was wrong not to tell them first. One may well ask how good is American intelligence the sale of the port was in our papers for quite some time. It wasn't exactly a secret. Bolt certainly found no reason to make a fuss of it when it was first announced. But he's trying his darnedest now why? Would that be because he suddenly is trying to spin it for some political advantage trying to embarrass Turnbull? Turnbull has no issue to answer and I doubt he even notices what Bolt has to say.

Bolt continues to misinform, still claims one terrorist in Paris was a refugee with no evidence. He doesn't say Syrian now since the passports discovered have proved false. His blog's purpose is to raise Lazarus Abbott who clearly said all decisions with regard troops on the ground are Obama's. Abbott has said little more since Sunday when he actually slapped Bolt down for suggesting he call out for extra troops..
Rumours of Liberal Party grumblings abound in these cut and pastes but no names are mentioned. It is typical of Bolt style of blogging even the so called "barracking journalists" go unnamed. Bolt and his posse seem to be shooting blanks just for the sake of making a noise to remind us of the fact they are around and still have relevance. He incorporates Krauthhammer a GOP celebrity gunslinger just to seem there's a world of urgency when in fact there isn't because ISIS isn't " the largest, most dangerous terrorist movement on Earth "

Ultra- tribalist Andrew Bolt doesn't seem to believe domestic violence should be treated equally under the law. Greater guilt ought be given if committed by immigrants and even more if Middle Eastern or Muslim. In fact justice should be weighted. Basically Bolt who claims not to be racist, tribalist, anti-Islam can't help highlighting these characteristics of people if appearing before our courts. These should be taken in to account by our immigration policies. Bolt sees a higher degree of risk among people with these traits than any others in our community despite the fact statistics show otherwise. Andrew wouldn't feel comfortable with a Muslim family as neighbors. He'd have to buy protection.

Andrew Bolt's simplistic and sweeping generalizations are based more on his anti- Islamic prejudice and anti-immigration stance than any desire to discover what it that is occurring in Mali. Mali was regarded as a model of African democracy until military seized power in March 2012 and the north fell under al-Qaeda control. A civil war is raging between Tuaregs of the north, an insurgency over land and cultural rights that persists to this day, despite central government. Alarmed at the capture of the town of Konna, the government in Bamako asked France to intervene militarily. French troops rapidly overran strongholds in the north, ending the major part of the insurgency. The north remains tense, however, with both Tuareg separatists and Islamists sporadically active.
What Bolt fails to do with his simplistic explanations of complex situations is couch any of his explanations in terms of the various internal and interests groups both internal and external have to maintaining a civil war in Mali. Saudi Arabia our allies being just one.
What Bolt ignores:
The similarity of the violence to other Islamist attacks should not, however, lead to us regard Mali as part of a monolithic Islamist threat. While there are several Islamist groups in Mali, such as the group Al Mourabitoune, they do not all share the same values or represent a global view of Islam. Much like the Nigerian Islamists of Boko Haram, the Islamists of Mali are products of very localised conditions, specifically decades of neglect and marginalisation in the north of the country.Seeing the current increase in terrorist attacks in Mali as just another tentacle of globalised Islamic terrorism therefore misses the point. The mixture of groups within Mali are primarily the product of local historical conditions, not an externally imposed ideology.
Marginalisation of the Tuareg over decades, coupled with the alienating approach of successive southern-led governments in Bamako have led to the creation of ripe recruiting grounds for those who seek to perpetrate violence. By portraying the issue as an all-encompassing global Islamist threat, the international community fails to engage with the underlying structural issues of governance that produce these groups and escalate the threats in places like Mali.
