Cologne attacks: mayor lambasted for telling women to keep men at arm's length

Cologne smells yes of a right wing anti- Asylum seeker beatup. In a world of CCTV and and mobile cameras that capture everything live in public places

" According to police and witnesses, the perpetrators were of North African and Arabic appearance, although neither the identity nor origin of any of them has so far been established."

" The government and local politicians have been at pains to point out there is no evidence that refugees were involved in the attacks. “There’s no evidence that we’re dealing here with people who are refugees,”"

About 1,000 men were gathered on the square in front of the city’s main station on Thursday night, although only a small number of them are believed to have been involved in the attacks.

Anyone who thinks Monday's share market meltdown might be a case of one-off new year jitters is likely to be in for an unpleasant surprise.

Dick Smith and the folly of gift cards (or 'unsecured creditor' cards)

There's a Royal Commission into Union Corruption but Corporate Crime is regarded as a one off event.

Let Dick Smith's woes be a lesson to us all. There's a good chance that when you buy a gift card, it will end up being only a gift for the retailer.
