Promises promises will only be there because News Corp has to raise Bolt up on their shoulders not that Bolt has shown any initiative to make it on his own or to be anything other than what he has shown himself to be since arrogant. That arrogance didn't come packaged at birth nor did it come in the form of  self confidence of  a young man. His self made career is a continuing gift accidentally acquired by someone who didn't have the skill to be a real journalist but was happy no eager to be a News Corp Punchinello with all the required strings attached. There is a distinction between confidence and arrogance worth worth making. Read it below.

 

The astonishing arrogance of the unelected Gillian Triggs

 

  A must read 2 men who grew up feeling  un-Australian Stan Grant and Andrew Bolt  both felt alien in their own land but the two men significantly the same but totally different. One confident educated, experienced, empathetic, who prefers his own comapny and books but remains  concerned about those he knows are disadvantaged. The other arrogant,  uneducated, with little or no experience, self interested  who champions the interests of the already advantaged why?  How is it  if these  two men were raised in a colorless democracy?  Stan Grant’s challenge to Australia: How seriously are you going to take me?’ Like Gillian Triggs Stan Grant says what Andrew Bolt denies "Stan Grant says he knows more – and has worked harder – than any of our frontbench politicians. And he’s ready to take them on."

No the very expected arrogance of Andrew Bolt is amplified by his lack of historic record of either learning or education. Bolt presents himself an an expert on Climate Change and has himself published as such in a book when his only education has been as a failure to complete a degree in humanities. He is exactly the example Gillian Triggs was referring to  when pointing out that the loudest voices were totally ignorant of International Law to which we are signitories.  Bolt is the epitome of a huckster with a microphone speaking to the converted and taking money for doing so with the most limited of knowledge on any topic.

This arrogance is amplified by Bolt who believes knowledge and wisdom comes with being one of the elected and that is signified by accumulated wealth derived only from hard work and wisdom of the surrounding world . No expertise is needed as far as Bolt is concerned.  He sells himself as an expert on Climate Change because he's been published is a success and feels he's one of the elite. He needs no formal qualifications to show he's any academic recognition because he is a success.. That's his arrogance to think of himself as one of the elect ordained if not by god but some natural order. 

It reminds me of Bolt's recent comments on Waleed Aly. Bolt seems to be extremely self conscious about his lack of education or expertise so much so he tries to degrade those he knows are better. It's why he sounds like a dog barking at parked cars.

It was odd on Andrew Bolt would point out this nasty fact but totally ignore the fact that  Nearly 90 Percent Of People Killed In Recent Drone Strikes ... were not the people targeted. What he is pointing out  is that ISIS was very specific in who they targeted set out on their mission and executed it with precision and claiming victory. "The Muslim-majority nation of 160 million has seen a surge in violent attacks over the past few months in which members of minority Muslim sects and other religious groups have also been targeted… " What are the odds that extremist crime would occur with this population. What is a surprise is that so few such crimes occur. However what is a crime is  the number of innocent deaths that go unreported when drone strikes are carried out on specific targets in fact 90% of those killed are innocent often women and children. Bolt ignores these deaths altogether.  When Bill Shorten said he would make cuts to negative gearing McCrann and Bolt could be heard from here to the ACT. Now Turnbull said no cuts Bolt claims it to be a potent weapon. How can 5% ghost housing be a potent weapon? Particularly when this practice is exclusive to the wealthiest areas. sound it's another form of welfare for the wealthy. There are 50,000 empty homes speculating on nothing more than a capital gain. How is that productive investment job creating or benefiting the GDP?

Bolt sounds very much the pissed  brat who wasn't invited to the party. He sounds very much   the anti -Papists who broke away from the Catholic Church in the 16th Century. But of course he is he has a reformist heritage a wowser's background who believed they were the only ones who had a direct connection with god. They didn't need a pope only their belief in themselves, the book, the word and separation from non believers. You only helped your own kind because they the only ones destined for paradise you couldn't intervene. There was no room for Samaritan gestures. Just sermonizing  and reminding yourself who the heretics were because God had pre-elected pre-ordained the saved and his will be done. No papist can change that.

Bolt  sounds more like a fundamentalist Muslim to be except his paradise hasn't the virgins.

Psst doesn't Bolt read the financial pages. Investors are bringing coal mining to a standstill not dreamy Green demands. The largest coal mine has gone bankrupt because people with money rather save it than watch it burn for some crazy belief that coal is good. Obviously Andrew Bolt hasn't a cent invested in fossil fuels and has no intention of putting his money where his mouth is despite not believing in dreamy Green demands. Investors are the wealthy and they aren't pulling out because they want to seem good just as Bolt isn't investing to be seen to be putting his money in what he believes.

A short while ago Miranda Devine let us know that the worst thing for men to be in Australia were Delcons  and specifically those in the media like Tim Blair and Andrew Bolt.
