Serena Williams broke the rules at the US Open and suffered the consequences. But the point she argued is that the same rules are broken at every tournament without those same consequences being meted out, writes Tracey Holmes.
Bolt's argument for rules and manners is what traps us all by the balls. Social Science demands so much more of explanations and yes the demand for politeness and manners is the real plea of scoundrels and it's what had him attacking the women in the Conservative Party for not accepting the rules of the men in Parliament rules that he suggests make parliament work without simply considering how they even came about historically.
Bolt takes advantage of an individual's meltdown to declare a systemic negative history of tennis to be false
1) Women aren't the bullied victims of the sporting industry and no gender difference exists and in fact, Serena is the bully
2) No racism exists in tennis and Serena is the racist
and
3) William's as an individual and champion wasn't just overstressed but attempted to use her position to cheat, fraud, bully and racially disparage the white male management of the game because she was a woman, black that Bolt could use to run a parallel flip to show how the conservatives in the Liberal Party were maligned and the real victims of whining women.
Firstly Bolt's not debating anyone his production staff offer as debate a cut, pasted and edited video to support Bolt's disparaged view of Williams, not anyone else almost suggesting Williams asked her coach mid-game for advice. The problem being Bolt didn't show Williams doing that. So this isn't a debate at all it's a one-sided calculated attack on Williams for being human.
Tantrums have been had by men and ignored in tennis. So why is Williams so important to Bolt? It's a distraction from the recent attention pointed out of the misogyny among conservative males in politics. Serena isn't the only woman to have had an emotional crash 13 women in the Liberal Party are currently being accused of having one and Bolt has been sliming them for it too.
In sport, however, Serena is the only one that has captured the immediate attention of Bolt to use and flip as an example to denying sexism in the tennis industry and to even suggest that racism either doesn't exist in sport or politics. Why is Serena the perfect vehicle for Bolt's politicking because she's there having a personal moment and can be used to run this red herring? She's a woman and she's black.
However, Bolt shows his ignorance when he doesn't give any context as to William's sisters and their family's personal experience or struggle in tennis a predominately white sport and business. That's totally ignored why? Because of how they became champions in this environment and their experience doesn't matter to matter to Bolt. How dare Serena attack, emotional or not, the exclusive white dominated game and business of marketing goods to alabaster America. A game not welcoming to Afro Americans as participants as other professional sports are. Tennis golf and swimming are very much games about which private games are centred. Marketing managers of the tennis industry weren't even interested in the two Williams girls.
Bolt hasn't any grounds to defend an industry that today even admits it once had a shameful history of sexism and would contradict him had he had someone there to debate him. Bolt's however not interested in the context of how black lives and women once didn't matter in tennis. So knowing that Bolt really has only one other option the racist one attack Serena herself, malign her as a professional and individual next to another conservative moralist like himself Margret Court for what? Simply having an emotional breakdown, for being a black woman and calling her the bully in the industry that gave her opportunity and wealth on whose back tennis prospered. Flipper Bolt is calling her the bully, the racist and not the victim of an industry that chews people up and spits them out no matter their sex but having a long history of treating the women worse. Does Bolt really sound convincing using Serena to generalize not in the least?
Bolt 's only reason for the attention he's given her isn't that she played badly and was emotional but he seems to want to destroy her because she's black and dared express her experience and the reality of a shameful history of an industry that still exists and Serena like Julia Banks has done it publicly. That's her crime visibility and that's what Bolt has failed to convince us of what he says he's doing protecting the noble game of tennis from this black bitch.
Bolt, as usual, takes a complex moment and simplifies it, not to understand, but to use it for his self-serving political opinion which is typical of Bolt. One need note Billy Jean King an LGBTQ champion actually supported Serena and her opponent the winner both were victims here not just one and it wasn't of Serena's personal meltdown.

He tried the same once on Adam Goodes as well and openly found laughing at Sudanese girls for having Beauty Pageants more than hilarious and was joined by his son in the belly laugh. However, every one of his comments revealed "his" Racist perspective which in the manner of reality tries to erase any influence history and social evolution has played to have maintained it.
Bolt tried the same when he said he was indigenous that would have made a better cartoon. More Indigenous than Goodes and Grant and others. All that did was make him Australia's greatest public idiot. He does the same when he tries to turn his white elite class into the victims of bad behaviour by anyone they don't see as their equals.
They insist that manners and rules, however, are universal and don't just reflect the evolution of class control that masks the underlying reality of their brutality as depicted in Oscar Wildes Dorian Grey. Yes Serena may have had an inappropriate moment and there's a list of champions that have had and wanna be champions that have as well but Bolt's reaction seems the very opposite of the Stadiums who were booing the event not the players were they all Black? Was America being threatened no? So why did this Black woman just became one of Bolt's moles to whack which by the way he doesn't do when Donald Trump does exactly the same. No, Bolt goes out of his way to praise the man, his tantrums and lack of manners.
The fact is black white or brindle is a universal quality of human beings however why is Trump innocent in Bolt's eyes and Serena not it's the context and the history that provides the answer and what Serena did doesn't deserve the attention that Bolt doesn't give when Trump does the same. Bolt shows just how hard it is for a black woman at work.
