Former prime minister Tony Abbott has been accused by experts of lacking a "basic grasp of economics" and being "embarrassing" after attempting to intervene in the Brexit crisis.
Moments after UK prime minister Theresa May's Brexit withdrawal plan was rejected by the UK parliament on Tuesday, making it more likely the country would leave the European Union without a governing deal, Abbott tweeted "What’s wrong with no deal? Australia does $100 billion a year in trade with the EU without a deal."
