OLD DOG THOUGHT

How good is Australia? Andrew Bolt thinks it's shit and dreams of retiring to the Socialist, Multicultural, Multi-Ethnic and overcrowded city twice as congested less free to do what you want Amsterdam. Let's ensure his dream comes true.

'Class act': Sky News loses Speers to the ABC's Insiders

Reports that the Sky News host is to replace Barrie Cassidy were greeted with enthusiasm from senior journalists.
David Speers will depart Sky News to replace Barrie Cassidy as host of the ABC's political panel show Insiders in a blow to the Rupert Murdoch-owned cable network.
Speers, Sky's political editor, is respected across the political spectrum in contrast to several of Sky's 'after dark' hosts who are perceived to lean heavily towards the conservative side of politics.

What Bolt learned was zip or at least won't admit the reality of what occurred.
 1) the total of votes that meant anything for this win only amounted to some 146,000 across the country hardly the massive victory to be sung about. Why the noise the surprise!! 2) The poorest people in the country that haven't the time, money or education workers swung away from Labor the wealthy and educated the most to be negatively affected by Franking Credits, and negative gearing actually swung to Labour. 3) Reason, rationality, and fact were defeated by nothing other than the media firestorm of a scare campaign and fake advertising that drove those conned workers in fear of their jobs. However not to the LNP but to everyone but Hanson and the UAP in Qld. It's no wonder politicians, along with the media, have become the least trusted people in the Australian Society. Murdoch media were happy as pigs in shit running that scare campaign for a profit. The question did they get paid up front if not will they be paid at all by Clive Palmer who owes Qld workers that $70mill?
Bolt learned absolutely nothing from the exercise. It appears, however, David Speers learned a lot and was sick of it.

Self-interest didn't swing the election results, but the scare campaign did | Danielle Wood | Opinion | The Guardian

Labor’s chances were not sunk by self-funded retirees, but by the very voters who stood to benefit most from the ALP’s policies
A big, bold reform program requires voters to take some things on faith. Few outside those directly affected have the time or inclination to delve into the complex details of tax treatment of investment properties or to understand franking credit refunds. In this election, voters were asked to take Labor on trust that its policy plans would not take jobs and the economy down with them.

LNP "We believe in Climate Change We believe the Science. We believe in Climate Change action and responsibility to the rest of the world"Josh Frydenberg
The fact that this election wasn't won but was lost on a liar's scare campaign shows the lack of concern the LNP, UAP, and One Nation showed for the issues that people really care about. Climate was all but ignored in the LNP's campaign which was aimed to scare the crap out of people whose jobs are vital to them. Tell them 14,000 jobs will be lost when 14,000 jobs were not going to be made. Yes you could tip 146,000 votes your way. That's around $685 a head. It goes to show just how profitable it is for this government to lie to please their backers largely Murdoch, the IPA and their corporate lobbyists.
However it doesn't show the urgency the LNP actually shows about Climate Change which got rid of Tony Abbott and scared the shit out of Josh Frydenberg and swung votes away from the LNP. Yes voters of all persuasions want to be assured the government heard Frydenbergs promise. School kids to pensioners will be in attendance citizens not just Andrew Bolt's fantasy of a minority of activists.

Generally, moderate not "conservative" David Speers is the curiosity here why did he jump? Bolt doesn't ask why the central Sky Pivot walked took a pay cut to go to the ABCs Insiders. No, he remains Murdoch pitbull and focuses an attack on the ABC and Ch 9 leaving nobody the wiser for David Speers leap. It's Bolt by the way who insists no ABC journalist can be conservative.  Bolt doesn't seem to name any "politically acceptable talent" on Sky here. Yet he certainly points to where all the unacceptable talent lie. Will others be jumping ship given so many journalists both ex and current have voiced their dissatisfaction with the editorial stance across Murdoch Media and not just the Industry as a whole. Strange not a sound of dissatisfaction coming from the LNP
