Fighting Fake News with REAL 26/10/19; Sending Australians to the poor house singing dirty deeds done dirt cheap:

Australians have run down their savings by $46.5 billion over the past 4 years on the back of slow wages growth.

Households slash savings by $46 billion as income share dips to a 10-year low

Savings are now at their lowest level since 2006.

Employee wages' share of total national income dropped to 52.1 per cent last financial year, the lowest level in a decade, while the profit share enjoyed by the business sector rose to its highest level since 2006-07.

While the LNP have been telling us "fundamentals are good" and we are heading to a surplus Australians have become dumber and poorer living of their savings to survive. The LNP has guaranteed we are little more than a hole in the ground. and that's why they can't let go of coal. (ODT)

Australian households have run down their savings by $46.4 billion over the past four years and crimped their spending on daily needs to offset higher income taxes and sluggish wages growth.

Final Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) figures for 2018-19 also reveal labour productivity has turned negative for the first time while the nation's dependence on mining exports has reached a record high.

ACTU secretary Sally McManus said the economy was suffering because of deliberate wage suppression.

"As working people have not had a pay rise for seven years, they have stopped spending. Domestic spending is the engine of the economy - once it stalls everything begins to go wrong. Small businesses feel it, big businesses feel it, we all feel it," she said.

There's more to fixing our economy than infrastructure

In 1989, Paul Keating was boasting of his success in garnering public support for his difficult reforms when he pronounced: “I'll guarantee if you walk into any pet shop in Australia, the resident galah will be talking about micro-economic policy.”
Instead, we are sitting here like wood ducks waiting to be shot. Australia blame yourselves you voted the LNP Morrison Government back to allow our economy to become an even more stagnant and still backwater and you did it for Clive and Geena promise to outdo Adani and letting machines in to turn Qld into a bigger coal mine we can watch and protest about.
