Fighting Fake News with REAL 29/3/20; LNP incompetance greater than any Pink Bats; Fake News and Idiocy; We simply never intended to be prepared Rudd tried!!

This government’s preparedness and response to emergency situations fails every test.
I highlighted this in my recent article; ‘We were once prepared for this‘ in which I wrote:
In the dying days of the Howard government they were very mindful of a couple of viruses, H5N1 (avian influenza), or bird flu as it was better known as, and H1N1, which was known as swine flu, that in a worse-case scenario could bring the world to its knees. That is, a global pandemic. Which includes us.
We had to be prepared for it…
Battle plans for such an event hit the drawing-board in 2007; an initiative of the Howard government – readying the country for the worst – and some time later the program was given life again by the Rudd government, with a significant increase in funding.
You may wish to read the whole article. It is not crucial that you do, but I encourage you as it provides a glimpse into the Coalition’s indifference to the threat of a pandemic.

Laura McCauley was not eligible to claim Centrelink payments because her partner earns above $48,000 a year.

400,000 left jobless by coronavirus will miss out on Centrelink without crucial fix

Scott Morrison will move within days to plug a hole in the welfare system that would have seen up to 400,000 laid off during the coronavirus crisis miss out on Centrelink.
The new demand heard from News Corp is send them back to work Taiwan did doesn't matter if we don't have the testing equipment or are geographically far bigger and more complicated than Taiwan. Bolt believes in one fix will save all.

Spain has deployed its armed forces to help transport the bodies of those killed, as the number of deaths from COVID-19 rose to just under 5,700.

What Sth Korea and Taiwan could do we can't and never could we weren't prepared and it was no accident (ODT)
“There’s a concept of economy and efficiency. You should have just enough beds for what you need tomorrow. You shouldn’t prepare for the future. Right? So the hospital system’s crashing. Simple things like tests which you can easily get in a  country South Korea (Taiwan), you can’t get here.
So the coronavirus, which should be controlled in a functioning society, is going out of hand here. We’re just not ready for it. What we’re good at, what our leaders are good at, and have been very good at for the last 40 years, is pouring money into the pockets of the rich and the corporate executives while everything else crashes.” (Noam Chomsky on a US health system which has parallels with Australia’s).

FAKE NEWS-

Andrew Bolt calls for nature's death panel to take its course but protect the Economy at all cost. His approach to this Global Problem accepts that nature as he knows it has been rigged & only applies to "his Australia". Accepting that death will seeks out the most vulnerable in a user-pays economy. Those who Bolt never really gave a shit about in the first place his Australian "deplorables" as they aren't and never were really "his Australians" (ODT)

CORONAVIRUS: POLITICIANS ARE BURNING OUR COUNTRY IN ORDER TO SAVE IT

Politicians are destroying thousands of businesses and hundreds of thousands of jobs to stop a virus that has so far killed just 14 people and is less deadly than first thought. It must change tack fast before it leaves our economy a smoking ruin.  This virus is dangerous, but there is a better way to fight it. My editorial from The Bolt Report.

Reframing his argument on climate change and the "better way to fight it" is simply overlaying his old argument on to the conservatives one approach to everything protect the Economy at all cost as it's the best we can possibly have. Both the Pandemic and Climate Change show the global nature of the problem and the need for global unity to address it, not the reverse as Bolt is now suggesting.  Apparently, with only 14 dead we don't need to be concerned for the planet bu but only ourselves. Remember Bolt and the Ebola scare "shut the door" it's an African problem we heard the brave man cry.
The cost of trying to save everyone is unknown the collateral damage incremental and won't affect the economy. The problem with Covid-19 unless we are sufficiently prepared we will be left in the position of choosing who and who not to treat forcing doctors to choose who dies. Maybe Bolt could be the chair that committee, Australia's first Death panel. He could have people ring in and vote online who won't get that ventilator. His show could be renamed The Bolt Snuff Report.

WE'RE NOT DYING (YET) LIKE THESE SCAREMONGERS SAID

VIRUS EXAGGERATED? So far Australia's death toll from the coronavirus is just 13. It will rise, but is much less than we were led to expect. Was the danger - real enough - wildly exaggerated? Here are the most alarmist predictions that helped to panic our governments into burning down the country in order to "save" it.

How long was it going to take before science reason and logic were to be thrown out the window for the material interests of the elite 1% of Australia? How long before the denialists were going to retake control because their economy was threatened? The Oligarchy has found a lockdown is risking too much financially to allow their interests to be endangered, let alone destroyed. Capitalism has revealed it's unsustainable under these conditions and needs to be saved not "the people". The stock, property and financial markets were heading for a crash threatened by this virus more so than even the threat of  Climate Change because it's far more rapid and immediate.  While both need to be stopped in their tracks the media is the only means to do it to control the narrative and profit so there's a quid pro quo arrangement in place to buy and sell an alternative narrative. Yo-Yo Bolt is just one of the pundits working for the man to do it. A proven lackey of 30 plus years is quite happy to take on the Goebellian job of casting doubt on the experts and raising the cost-benefit argument against the exercise of trying to save all citizens equally. Andrew Bolt wouldn't flinch on setting up a death panel to select who and who doesn't get saved. Those that can pay of course are an obvious first choice. It's simply from the top down whereas the disease kills from the bottom up. Of course one needs to put on a show of effort to wave the meek who will never inherit his fucking world. (ODT)

WE'RE SLOWLY GETTING ON TOP OF THE VIRUS. NOW TO SAVE PEOPLE'S JOBS

More encouraging news.  The rise in new cases of coronavirus in Australia - 406 since 3pm yesterday - is still too high, but the rate of increase is the lowest in weeks: 12.8 per cent. One more death, of a 91-year-old woman, brings our toll to 14. But the death rate among those infected here is about the lowest in the world: under 0.4 per cent.

Enough is enough stop this nonsense of lockdown to try to save the poor in the community they are marginals anyway and not everyone is equal. The wealthy can pay the rest well let nature take it's course the death rate after all isn't that high only the contagion rate is. When Bolt says "jobs are threatened" he really means the value of our most prominent corporations stocks and shareholder dividends are. Those many who don't even pay tax here and the 1% that run the country from the shadows who stands to lose the most money but not life. It's time the government puts an end to trying to save everyone according to Andrew Bolt and focus on preventing an economic collapse.

What Bolt fails to grasp; however, is the whole world isn't currently thinking the way he is. The world isn't espousing the Fox/Trumpster head office line unless of course, he considers Mexico a significant cultural and trading ally which Trump certainly doesn't. But Mexico is doing what Bolt suggests we do is nothing really.  By no means should current state of Capital wealth be allowed to be risked when Labour, the unemployed and even the unnecessary can bear the weight of the cost?
Remember when Bolt laughed at the idea of herd immunity proposed by the UK and the Netherlands when they suggested it as the way to go. Make a show of isolating the most vulnerable and simply test the rest. The asymptomatic carriers well lets assume they don't exist and send them all back to work. Sounds too much like the plantation owners of the deep South Bolt positively didn't promote it.
He's a yo-yo and does now he's a Dutch fanatic but two weeks never once mentioned what they intended to do was significantly different from us. He simply said it couldn't be done the cost was too great. Australia couldn't do it. Well, we didn't have as many testing kits and were a far too large a country nothing has changed. We aren't in Taiwan. So why is Bolt pushing fabricating what wasn't impossible a month ago as being the best today? Why is he the yo-yo we all know now? We still don't have the equipment, how is it that Taiwan does? China sent Taiwan the material needed!
Taiwan has been held up as a model on how to address the Coronavirus successfully for weeks and weeks. Bolt must have known that, but at the time, it didn't fit his argument about the Chinese virus. Taiwan had 2 mill Chinese visit in 2019, and they still visiting now yet don't have a significant outbreak of Coronavirus why? Life is healthy & normal. No so us we seem to have contracted it from our own Australians returning home and Americans all who came and are untested because they showed no symptoms no because we weren't prepared and have never been never has even enough thermometers. In the meantime, Bolt's scapegoating of the Chinese seemed a better option. We have now seen them attacked on our streets the way Muslims were when Bolt focused his invective on them. It's no coincidence Bolts anti-Chinese hate correlates in the same way his ant- Muslim hate did with the current street bashings.  We don't still don't have the equipment to test like Taiwan. We are x1000 times larger all of which makes Bolts posturing position just a show a desperate one to arue the economy as we know it is more important than life. The two aren't the same. Bolt has known of  Taiwan all along and is only now saying "how amazing" as if he's just discovered it.  What a wanker he is and Fake he really is?

THE MAGIC WEAPON AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS: SOAP

WHY AND HOW Forget all those sanitisers. The humble bar of soap, plus hot water, is the potent weapon against the coronavirus. I didn't realise how good soap was until I read about its molecular structure - and its wicked tail that cracks through the virus's fat layers that protects the poison inside. Read this, and you'll never take soap for granted again.

Alright for Bolt whose always thinking of himself never those less fortunate. He takes his privileged world for granted, doesn't he? Maybe he should try to sleep rough for a while or in his car.  Spend some time in prison or a detention centre. How about remote Australia.

WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER? CHECK THE SPITTING IN MULTICULTURAL SYDNEY

What police have to put up with is astonishing. Spitting and the new tribalism included.

Slagging in Australia was the sign of a real man and you did it in front of others without any shame.  You had a slag on the sports field on the street what has multiculturalism to do with it? We have been slagging since the invasion. When you did a deal as a kid, you spat in your hands and shook them to seal the deal.
Bolt was never an Australian, never a real worker never Irish or Catholic probably used the word fuck in public.  He's never been true blue as those that Slim Dusty, Paul Kelly and John Williamson sing about. He wasn't even a Wog or a "New Australian". Bolt was always the son of Dutch immigrants whose mother hated the place and wished she was back home. Well that attitude totally stuck with her first son too.
