The
World Health Organization has warned that recovering from coronavirus
might not protect people from reinfection as the death toll from the
pandemic passed 200,000 around the globe.
I
will never in my life understand why there are people hostile to the
the idea of refugees trying to restart their lives in Australia, as
Australians.
What kind of nincompoop looks at someone willing to don scrubs and save Australian lives working emergency support on A FREAKIN’ CORONAVIRUS WARD and thinks: “Yeah, shove *that guy* in detention for three years, cool plan. Heaps to gain.”
Noor Ali Akbari, thank you for your courage and the risks you are taking for this community - on behalf of all Australians. Even the stupid ones.
Countries that succeed in tackling their infection rates - such as Australia - have many different challenges, but one common enemy: the coronavirus.
Great to see News Corpse's loud IPA voice has had no traction. Since the beginning of April, the echo of John Roskam could be heard the less than original Andrew Bolt who has been amplifying the IPA message that it's to come out and play the virus is not more than the common flu and we have defeated it. No reference is made to our lack of equipment and staff to do the required testing that would be needed to accompany the move. Nor any lack of stockpiles should a second wave take hold as in Singapore and Japan. To them, Australia is a planet disconnected from the rest of the world and should be except that is for trade.
We know very little about Roskam's lifestyle but Bolt certainly does not practise what he preaches. He will continue his social distancing and what he calls the un-Australian lifestyle and currently encourage the rest of his family to do the same. His voice is loud, yes but his intelligence and the IPA message he spreads ignored but by a minute few. The vast majority of Australians think quite the opposite.
Does it bother him should he dumped like he was from 2GB? No not really because as long as Roskam is CEO of the IPA they will support him with payola in so many other ways as they have in the past? IPA podcasts boosted his ego as did the book of fake facts and opinions on Climate Change they published. His son was and is employed by them in what is really a "family" business of circular quid pro quos. It's been a never-ending story really and will continue to be for some time to come even if Bolt's advertisers and Murdoch does dump him. Bolt's unique is there another media person whose only ever really been employed by Murdoch for some 30 years? However, if News Corp his organ-grinder decided to dump him there'd be another monkey to take his place. I suspect Bolt would hope it was his son who has been moulded in his image except with one exception he at least did get the tertiary education his father didn't. (ODT)

Ahead of the curve: five other countries winning the battle against coronavirus

We have data on which workers have been hit hardest by coronavirus. And the numbers are truly staggering
There's a hot debate raging about how and when the lockdown should be lifted. And there is another debate brewing about what changes we need to make — and whether we need radical economic policy reform — to deal with the big issues that have been thrown up by this crisis, writes Laura Tingle.

TURNBULL THE PLOTTER SOUGHT HELP FROM MURDOCH EMPIRE
WHAT HE WON'T TELL
Malcolm Turnbull: "Abbott and others and their friends in the Murdoch
media and the right-wing media generally, they overthrew my government."
Piers Akerman, Murdoch columnist: "Malcolm actively sought my editorial
endorsement when he rolled the sitting Liberal member for Wentworth...
and before he rolled then Opposition leader Brendan Nelson."
