Shift in gender balance means abuse claims are being taken seriously

 Andrew Bolt has been attacking women in media for as long as I recall. He and Tim Blair lead the boy's club at News Corp chuckling away to themselves in public about 'frightbats'. It wasn't a case of Bolt disagreeing with a journalist that just happened to be a woman it was a trend a pattern of behavior that reflected a misogynist culture which he supported wholeheartedly. Women had their place in Bolt's world and journalism wasn't one. Anne Summer, Miranda Divine, Milligan, etc were just some of Bolt's "lying cow" moments each of which had little or nothing to do with truth. Women simply were behaving badly doing things in and getting in Bolt's way. Strange though without women Bolt would never have made it to the position he has because they were senior to him out came the charm.

LINDA REYNOLDS TOO FRAGILE TO BE DEFENCE MINISTER

Linda Reynolds had a meltdown when accused of being insensitive to a rape victim. She then checked into hospital when an existing heart condition worsened, and now she's off work for another month - with ministers saying she wanted to avoid questions. Rather than declare that the women making the claims against our misogynistic culture are strong and right. Bolt actually proves they are. By damning Linda Reynolds for not being a man blinkered Bolt kicks an own goal. He's seemingly jumped the gutter, stopped defending the government and joined the left crying out to "sack her". However his cry isn't the equivalent of the Left's because what Renyolds did wrong was be " a woman", not like a "man" " just too fragile".  Labor on the other hand have declared her to simply be an incompetent and morally corrupt LNP politician.

Andrew Bolt is little more than an echo pretending to be a voice. The police have already declared there is no case for Porter to answer. Bolt makes out he's head of the line referring to a dossier he's never read. Labor among others have agreed there is no legal case but maintain there is another case to make and ask "Is Porter fit to be our AG" given his history. Shouldn't Morrison have sacked Porter for his tarnished history of public drunkenness and other bad behaviors that have characterized him in the past?

Isn't it strange that News Corp's moralist and crusader on a white horse turned PI  doesn't mention any of that? People's past has been front and center of Bolt's when attack of others. But declared a foul, fake lies when others do it to him. Particularly when we discover the others are the Truth Sayers and Bolt is left to publicly apologize. As he did after calling Anne Summer and his ex- fiancee lying cows.

 Bolt's not a media leader. Here he's just an LNP camp follower trying to make himself larger than life. He's a distraction who wants to be center stage. News Corp unfortunately has given him the resources but not the ability to be more than a blowfly.
