Fighting Fake News with REAL; 28/1/22; Australia's Decline, RAT, Neil Young;

 The measure of the Morrison Government : While Traesurer Josh Frydenberg is out there telling us the “fundamentals are good” the reality is the very opposite and we have been on a major slide since 2014.

The decline of political and corporate standards in Australia over recent years is not just in the imagination of some critics. Transparency International released its annual corruption report yesterday which gives Australia the lowest score and global ranking since the series began in 1995.

 "A friend of ours inherited a RAT from their parents"

Fears many young Australians may never own their own RAT

Isn't this a mirror image of Australia with Subs and Tanks but Morrison's refusal of domestic deployment against Covid-19?

Neil Young to Spotify: Remove music over Rogan vaccine misinformation

 The Individual vs Government and Corporate control.

 In the world of "free speech" it must be said Spotify isn't an Individual actor and any idea that they are in a free market of ideas is ludicrous and an oxymoron. That doesn't exist except on the fringes. The very notion that Spotify a Corporation is an Individual came into being in 1984 when the American Senate passed Citizens United Act and allowes Corporations to act as political Individuals. The Capitalist Democracy was validated and reinforced, declared arena of "Fake Speech" and opened the flood gates of the cash for comment industry. Where ratings and propaganda became "the product" for sale to moneyed and corporate interests of America. Interests that certainly strengthened the growth of corporate control and control of the media industry in America.

 Murdoch put his foot on the accelerator to become the biggest influencer, and cash for comment distributor of Fake News, not just in America, but the English speaking world. With new technologies providing space for sattellites, the Rogans and other Right-Wing spruikers of the world to grow and perform for wealth and find a niche. A niche supported by concentrated wealth that allowed corporations like Spotify to make the Capitalist choice, not for any idea, but rather it's bottom line and share price. They aren't here for the betterment of any Nation or Common Good so fuck off Neil. There is a moneyed right-wing market to pander to not a disparate left or progressive one. There is no such thing as misinformation as far as they are concerned only product and advertising and investor money.

There is no free market of ideas where Public Broadcasters struggle for existence and Corporations like Rupert Murdoch's try to rid nations of Public Broadcasters like the BBC and the ABC in Australia. Propaganda is the core business of Fox and Sky News. Rogan is just a Camp follower. Follow the flow of money and you find Faux News in a Capitalist Democracy. Just as Brendan O'Neil is in the UK and Andrew Bolt is in Australia.

Read the Australian Main Stream The Age etc and what will you see is that "Neil Young isn't genuine" "He's done it before" "It's his schtik" he's old likeable but confused etc etc. Brendan O'Neil saw his opportunity in his article titled  "Hippies for Censorship" in his camp follower rag Spike. All cash for commenters tolerated  maintaining the illusion of a free market of ideas in Capitalist Democracies where they are definitely not. They add to the confusion to distract from the illusion mainstream media spins.

Spotify is removing Neil Young’s music after he left the music streaming service with a stark choice: it’s me or Joe Rogan. Spotify chose Rogan. In a now-deleted letter on his website, the 76-year-old artist accused Spotify of spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines through its most popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Young, who has a long history of political activism, accused Spotify of profiting from misinformation about COVID-19 and asked that they either remove his entire music catalog or Rogan’s podcast series.

 Grace and Neil feel the rage

Conclusion: Nous Sommes Grace Tame The lesson from this is that activism need not be bricks through windows, or even fiery rhetoric. Through her simple facial expressions and the fire in her eyes, Grace Tame has conveyed the outrage of the considerable segment of the population that has, to put it mildly, an unfavourable opinion of The Lodge Occupant. As much as her critics like to complain about her ‘lack of civility’, it is precisely that lack of civility, the idea of not being ‘the good little girl’ that makes her statement so powerful.

Hippies for censorship

Conservative, camp follower Brendon O'Neill is always desperate for attention spins his misinformed message that all’s well with the world and the free market of ideas. Neil Young is an old Hippie that's just lost his way. You will find him a guest on Murdoch media trying to make a name for himself and impress the the bigger players in the market place of ideas which aren't free or in his case informed.

Hippies are the most disappointing subculture, aren’t they? They always let you down. They cut their hair, become therapists or corporate sustainability advisers, and before you know it these people who wanged on about Woodstock for 50 years are being paid a fortune by The Man to badger me and you. Just look at Neil Young. The one-time cocaine-stained hero of LA’s alternative scene, singer of angry songs about Vietnam and the Kent State massacre, participant with Crosby, Stills and Nash in the Freedom of Speech Tour of 2006, is now basically pleading with a huge corporation to silence people he doesn’t like. From protest singer to agitator for capitalist censorship? What a fall.

Grace Tame’s refusal to appease Morrison with a smile has set off a typical reaction from privileged, middle-aged men, including Peter van Onselen whose smug arrogance and sexism should no longer be tolerated by Channel 10.
