If Trump is the dark spectre hanging over the GOP along with abortion, guns, and education and climate surely the same could be said of Dutton and the LNP. Currently there is no resistense to Albo other than by the IPA's Fake Poll Push for coal fired power stations and their absurd claim 68% of Australia support them.
. The LNP and the ALP are both at a loss to deal with inflation nor is it the war in the Ukraine. The fossil fuel industry can't hide from the fact that they and they alone are abusing their power to make the globe suffer. Because the sectors economy is greater than anyone sovereign nation.
The LNP may have assisted in the planet losing a decade of opportunity but the fossil fuel industry lost us over 3 decades of action and will continue down the same path. Does anyone for a moment think BP the third largest solar power developer outside of China and the EU are transitioning with the utmost rapidity to green energy or controlling the pace away from their primary investment? Tobacco companies are now claiming they too are the biggest drivers of anti-smoking on the planet as well while suing government quit campaigns and trying to redefine the definition of smoking..
